DNS backend
Hello. which are the main differences between Samba_Internal and BIND9_DLZ ? I refer to the differences about functionality such as zone transfers and automatic updates. Which others functionalities offers BIND9, that Samba_Internal doesn't support ? Is it possible to use a DNS Server (Bind9) separate of the DC Samba4? I mean, in other server. Thanks for reply, FelipeGS6 .

Sieve fileinto and year/month folders.
Hi there, I am trying to move from lmtpd (lmtpd.sf.net) to dovecot sieve. One thing used by some of powerusers are archiving mail automatically with autocreated folders based on year + month. Is there any good way to make that with sieve... One example require "fileinto"; if address :is ["From", "To"] "dovecot at dovecot.org" { fileinto

Internal DNS and recursion
On the Samba wiki at https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_Internal_DNS there is the following: If you have chosen the internal DNS as backend for your environment, there are only two options that can be added to your smb.conf, to control the behaviour of DNS at this point: # Don't allow any updates | allow unsigned updates | only allow signed updates allow dns updates = False |

Palm Hotsync success...
Well, after having given up uppon serial communication from hotsync.exe to the Palm Vx, I decided to try network communication instead. I am able to perform a complete hotsync even with Netscape Calendar synchronization. I am not doing anything special to make it work but it is not straight forward, neither. I start hotsync.exe, configuring it for network access only. Then I start pi-nredir

upsclient high level API and Java wrapping
Hi all, on proposal by Arnaud Quette and sponsored by Eaton, I will work on a port on Java of client, discovery and config API. As I have already suggested (mail of 2011-06-14 of this ml), instead of developping another port of nut protocol, I suggest to develop a higher level API in C/C++ uppon existing upsclient, inspirated by existing C-based tools and python and perl rewrites. The second

llvm-lit output directory - role?
Hi, I use llvm-lit in my own project. Works fine so far. However, executing the tests, I get output directories which are empty. Whats the role of them? I could not find any hint in the docu. I was expecting that e.g. for RUN: X, the output of X would be located there. I can use RUN: X > log, then I get a log file right besides the test file, and not in oputput. Where can I find more docu

MultiISP: failover and dynamic IP
Dear list, Shorewall is running here with 2 ISP''s: ISP1: corporate ADSL-line with fixed set of IP''s ISP2: fast consumer-grade cable-connection with higher bandwidth All our main traffic (web, e-mail) is routed trough ISP1. Only for special purposes (frequent large ftp-transfers) ISP2 is used, configured trough tcrules. ISP2 is not so reliable as ISP1 (duh) and they sometimes
