Hanging SMBD processes - Samba CRASHING
Hi folks,
We have been experiencing problems with one of our Samba servers here
for a while now and need a little help. First off we are running Fedora
Core 3, kernel version 2.6.12-1, and Samba version 3.0.20b. Our hardware
is a RAID 5 DELL PowerEdge 700 server. The problem I am about to
describe has occurred on this server in previous versions of samba prior
to version 3.0.20b and has the

Problem
------------
SMBD processes spawn out of control until the Samba stops responding.
Restarting the service does not clear the processes. Only a reboot of
the server will bring it back to a usable state.
This server is home to our postgres databases, Access front ends, and
Production Files (excel, word...). It is a samba domain member server.

need an example with 2 different nets
Hi, thanks.
Sorry for the mess with my gmail account...
This made the route go away. But is this the right way to configure tinc?
To give the tinc interface an IP (with 255.255.255.255 subnetmask) from the
local (green)
network it does route the traffic to?
Does it make sense to give the tinc interface an 192.168.0.253 IP, when the
net here is 192.168.0.0/24 on eth1
I can not find such a

Determine IP addres of a AIP/IAX user
Hello all!
Is there any possibility to determine the IP address of a caller in my
dialplan?
I would like to have a predefined channel variable like ${CALLER_IP} but
it seems it doesn't exist
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Variables) .. is this list
complete?
Are there any other possibility to store the SIP/IAX caller's IP address
on every call?
Thanks

I couldn't see last login time of a mail addres
Hello
I use dovecot-1.0.7 for imap. I also use vpopmail5.4.x. on qmail.
When I type vuserinfo to see last login time of a mail address in my imap server, I could not see it.
How do I correct that ?
Thanks.

sshd won't bind to tun0
Hi all,
I have a strange situation.
I have a machine connected to an AT&T VPN.
Sometimes the VPN gets disconnected, so I create a cronjob to restart
the VPN client when it happens:
Problem is: sshd seem doesn't want to bind to tun0.
I restart ssh, network, no good.
Anyone has any clue? So strange.
Thank you.

Solaris tun0 problem
I'm trying to set up tinc on a Solaris 8 machine, but am having some
problems setting the MAC addres on the tun0 interface to fe:fd:0:0:0:0
The error I'm seeing is:
ifconfig: set_phys_addr failed: dl_errno 7 errno 0
ifconfig: failed setting mac address on tun0
Has anyone successfully setup tinc & tun0 on a Solaris machine?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,
Tim Evans

issue with tinc and libvirt / Network is already in use by interface tun0
Hello Dieter,
could it be that your tinc node adds the route 192.168.1.0/24 and that libvirt
later fails when it tries to configure the local bridge and add the same route?
You could verify this by adding some output (writing a log file?) to the
subnet-up script.
If this should be the case then you need to find out, why tinc calls the
subnet-up script for its own local subnets. Maybe there are

Binding to Tun0 device
Hello all,
We have a few aliased Ethernet addresses on our server and if I do not
use the Bind statement in the "Global" section then the NMBD seems to
try to bind to all of the addresses.
We are actually using OpenVPN which make the connections just fine on a
172.16.x.x subnet to "tun0" device.
The problem is that Samba does not seem to find the tun0 device and
