Docker container for Raspberry Pi
Hi everybody.
Just wanted to mention that I've published a docker image of tinc 1.1pre15
for the raspberry pi 2/3.
It was compiled from source on a raspberry 3 and published as
byscontrol/tinc-rpi <https://hub.docker.com/r/byscontrol/tinc-rpi/> along
witht the configuration instructions.
The latest tag refers to 1.1pre15 only, but I can publish other versions as
well if needed.
Hope

Getting --delete to work, simply
rsync version 3.1.2 protocol version 31
I've run into an issue using rsync on my QNAP NAS. I've installed Entware-ng
on the NAS so that I can install better versions of programs, rsync being
one of them.
But, I've run into an issue wqith using the --delete option, as it has
problems using wildcards.
Initially a backup script looked like:

The sad state of samba 4 adaption for home/small business routers.
Hi,
i would like to inspire a discussion on why samba4 has nearly no adaption on
home/small business routers firmware.
I recently switched from my old Asus-N16 running tomato to a WRT-1200AC and
was researching potential firmware's that i could run. We have a new
synology disk-station at work that runs Samba 4.x and it works great. So i
was surprised to notice that 3 years after the 4.0

tinc using docker containers
I've recently built a docker container to easily install and configure tinc
1.1pre14 in any machine using docker containers. I've created a Github repo
in https://github.com/bys-control/docker-tinc
I'm working in a WEB based admin interface for managing tinc daemons. Right
now it's just a JSON API for tinc, but I'm working in developing the front
end.

Great! One comment: ifconfig is considered deprecated on Linux. I'm sure
the command will stay around,

connect windwos 7 to linux homes
With windows XP this worked perfect. I would map a network drive to \\servername\homes<file:///\\servername\homes>, provide my linux samba user account and it would stay functional between reboots.
With windows 7 I can map the network drive as in XP but after a reboot the mapped drive to the linux samba homes share breaks with the message Microsoft windows network: multiple connections to a

Help with windwos 2000 and Samba 2.0.3 / can't see shares
I reported this (or tried, I emailed the bug list with the results with
debug set high). Both 2.0.7 pre1 and the CVS today won't show shares.
I note that tcpdump apparently shows that it is trying to negotiate an
old protocol - I can see the decode of the Win98 traffic, but not W2K.
It fails on the routine that does the get next share name.
Basically with W2K, smbclient -L won't show

Tinc and OpenWRT
Greetings.
I'm new to tinc, but have so far managed to get a couple laptops and a
hosted server all connected. They're working as expected, running
Tinc 1.1-pre11, which I compiled from source.
Next I want to move on to adding my home router into the mix. My
routers run OpenWRT. I don't have experience compiling anything from
source for OpenWRT, but OpenWRT has Tinc 1.0.25

"docker-master" package: daily builds of docker master branch
Daily builds of docker master branch are available in the virt SIG repository as
package 'docker-master':
http://cbs.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=690
Should mostly work fine though use it AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you'd prefer to use something stable, you could choose between the RHEL-recompiled
'docker' package available in centos-extras and the 'docker' package
