Upcoming laws and the state of privacy in Europe?
Hi, I'm not trying to rock any boats or make noise and I'm not interested in discussing politics either, but I just wanted to get a general feel for what the rest of the tinc community felt in regards to how the EU looks like it wants to completely break encryption and make tools like tinc unfeasible. Both Germany and France want this to happen and in the UK the snoopers charter has

Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
Hi Jared, I've seen the same while testing on digital ocean, I think it's the context switching that happens when sending a packet. I've done some testing with wireguard and that has a lot better performance but it's still changing quite a lot and only does a subset of what tinc does so probably not a stable solution. UDP hole punching and invitations

10th anniversary of tinc 1.0
Hello everyone, Today is exactly 10 years ago that tinc 1.0 was released. I would have hoped to celebrate this by releasing 1.0.22 and 1.1pre8 today, but this will instead happen in one week. Tinc 1.1 is close to becoming stable, and I hope to release 1.1.0 before the end of the year. The main features of tinc 1.1 are the improved security over tinc 1.0, and a much nicer interface that makes it

Tinc invite options
Dear All, We are trying the Tinc invites to let nodes join the network. This is working as described but we want to push some configuration for some nodes but this seemed not to be working. What is working is the following invite: Name = test_invite NetName = test_VPN ConnectTo = test_hub01 Ifconfig = 172.16.1.4/24 Subnet = 172.16.1.4

Improving packets/sec and data rate - v1.0.24
Niklas - Thanks! Yeah, your Github issue was very useful for me to understand what is probably causing our issue (the syscall chain done on every UDP packet). Very interesting that you're able to see around 90% of a Gig line on bare metal. Were you ever able to make any further progress on adjusting Tinc based on the investigation in https://github.com/gsliepen/tinc/issues/110 ? Martin -

Multiple entry node support
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA512 I'm trying to make a VPN network with the help of my friends. Tinc seems to support multiple connect to options, but isn't it tricky? Will it cause unsynchronized hosts etc? Will the 1.1 invite support it? PS: every nodes are not 24/7 on, maybe a node will be online but another not. - -- Sent from my Android device with K-9 Mail. Using keyring on tinc
Hi all! Is there any way to make tinc use keys from a keyring or similar? I'm trying to find a way to manage multiple server, making it easier to register a new user to the network. Thanks! -- Martin IƱaki Malerba inakimmalerba at gmail.com inaki at satellogic.com

Easy Cert Management
I absolutely love tinc and the features it brings to the table, and also the stability it provides. My one issue with tinc is that managing certs between different nodes seems rather inconvenient. By using "tincd -n vpn -D -d5" I can see when a cert fingerprint is denied. Does tinc have features like that of puppet where you can list the pending certs and accept or deny them? see

Destroy, dependent and performance
Hi! This is my first post in this forum. I''m learning RoR for two weeks and I''m very interested about how to improve this framework. I was testing one app I''m working in and I had some problems with destroying. The code is simple (and maybe wrong, as I said i''m just learning!). When you destroy a league, you send a message to all the users associated to this
