[RFC] [PATCH] Mode=Switch: add per-VLAN forwarding database
Hi, thanks for the feedback. > This is an interesting problem. Use of qcdisc+htb
Hi folks. This message may be a bit verbose and not as techie as the ones I''ve seen in this list, but describing the scenario will save a lot of messages. Scenario: A building with 17 floors, each floor with 24 offices (totals 408 offices) connected to the backbone through a border switch (1 vlan for each office). The offices can lease bandwidth of 64k, 128k, 256k, 512k, 1M and 2Mbps,

bonding + VLANs -> Oops/panic, no VLAN on 100 Mbit cards [SOLVED]
As the issue concerns both the -user (configuration) and -devel (OOPS), I''m sending this message to both lists. Some time ago I complained about two problems: - VLANs are not working on machines with 100 Mbit cards - I get a kernel Oops (sometimes panic) when I try to use bonding and VLANs with Xen The root of the issue is the same in both cases: VLAN interfaces must *not* be

VLAN issue
OK, thanks again for all your help. I have resolved this, finally. The problem was that I configured VLAN 48 as the native VLAN on the trunk port. That was a mistake as apparently the native VLAN is the one where Cisco does not bother to tag packets. For now I set the native VLAN to VLAN 1 and that works. Cheers, Boris. On Sun, Jan 25, 2015 at 7:13 PM, Boris Epstein <borepstein at

VLAN info
Hello, I'm looking for any information on setting up VLANs to seperate the telephony network from the ordinary network. I have google'd around but haven't found a lot of information in the best way to go about this. Has anyone managed to do this successfully in conjunction with asterisks? If so, could they provide an overview of what they did and how they find it? Did the performance

Fully virtualized domU Linux network (VLAN) trouble
Hi, I have a 64bit Debian Lenny server with two physical network interfaces, one is connected to a switch without VLANs (eth0), the other (eth1) is connected to a switch with tagged VLANs (eth1). I''m running a couple of paravirtualized VMs that have no problem using the eth0 interface (bridged). I''m also running a couple of fully virtualized VMs, one being a Linux box (with a

multiple vlan in dom0 and domu
Hello, I use a script network-multi vlan and network-bridge-vlan for multiple VLANs in domu. Several domu uses the bridge vlanbr30. Need to dom0 as was in this vlan''e. How? I tried to put a bridge interface ip, but with him until the rest domu in vlanbr30 not get through. How to understand the need to create a virtual interface (vifx.y) and add it to the bridge vlanbr30. How?

Vlan trunk/QinQ connected to KVM guest
I am running KVM guests under Redhat 6. I tried to setup a bridge device to an interface with a vlan trunk connected to a Juniper switch. On the KVM host, I am able to define vlans and access them via the vlan trunk. I was not able to access a vlan from the kvm guest connected to the bridged interface. I believe this would be what is commonly called QinQ or 802.1ad. Is this possible to do? I

Kickstart from tagged VLAN?
I've searched around but haven't found a definitive answer yet, is it possible to kickstart from a tagged VLAN? I found this bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=431915 But I can't find out how far the vlan support goes. I haven't found anything about it in any kickstart docs. I have two tagged vlans: Vlan 100 - server subnet Vlan 101 - backup subnet From

VLAN issue
Do you need the whole configuration? On the switch end, we have the relevant VLAN (VLAN 48) with the assigned IP address of 192.168.48.101 and the range of ports (Gi1/0/1 - Gi1/0/8) assigned to that VLAN. Seems - and acts - like a legitimate setup and works fine, except for this particular instance. Thanks. Boris. On Fri, Jan 23, 2015 at 8:54 PM, Dennis Jacobfeuerborn < dennisml at

Can I bridge a bonded and vlan tagged interface directly to a guest?
I am running CentOS 5.3 x86_64 as my dom0 and CentOS 5.3 on my domU's. On the dom0, I have two interfaces that are bonded and have tagged VLANs. I can get the networks to the domU's by creating a bridge for each of the VLANS (bond0.3, bond0.4, etc). On the domU, the interfaces show up as eth0, eth1, etc. Is there a way to set up the network on the dom0 so my domU's see a single

[Bridge] VLAN translation + PVST+
Hello, I am creating a configuration where a Redhat server running bridge-tools 0.9.5 will be bridging between different VLANs on the same physical interface (for example: a bridge consisting of eth1.100 and eth1.110). This physical interface is being connected to modern Cisco switches running PVST+. The Cisco switch does not like this configuration as the tags on its BPDUs are being changed

Steve, Thanks, makes sense. I just don't see why I have to effectively waste an extra IP address to get my connection established. Boris. vlan tagging for openVSwitch
hi everyone, I'm trying to get vlans tagged in libvirt as my switch's end (yes traffic will be leaving the host and into network switches) allows only tagged vlans. But with network as such: ...   <portgroup name='vlan-55'>     <vlan trunk='yes'>       <tag id='55'/>     </vlan>   </portgroup> </network> and guest as:

Can I pass 802.1q (VLAN tagged) through a VPN Tinc in HUB/Switch mode?.
Hello to everybody, Sorry if my english isn?t very good. I need pass 802.1q through a VPN between two offices. I have mounted a WRT54GL, with OpenWRT firmware, conected to a switch trunk port in both offices. In the switch of the first office I have created five tagged VLANs and I need pass these VLAN to the second offices where it has created it too. Can I do this with Tinc in HUB/Switch
