samba file hierarcy issue
Hi I try to configure a samba file server and create a file hierarcy for clients to view folders. What i try to do is as below: I wanted to create a folder x with no password and other folders w,y,z inside folder x with password. So users can enter and view x folder content but cant view w,y,z folder contents without password. But my clients that connect to samba server cant view a folder

Applying Dovecot for a large / deep folder-hierarchy archive.
Hello to you all, I'd like to ask about my intended application of Dovecot to create a folder-hierarchy for storing our enterprise emails, which are treated as live data rather than archives for compliance or occasional / reactive retrieval. The data is presently not that large (a few gigabytes), but it is expected to grow rapidly. Up to this stage the data has been containedin a Microsoft

Applying Dovecot for a large / deep folder-hierarchy archive.
Hello Aki, Thank you greatly for your advice, it is really valuable to know that the key criteria for our desired application of Dovecot are supported (our groupware stacks are running Dovecot 2.3.4.1) prior to commencing operations to configure Dovecot and migrate enterprise data. Thanks for the word of caution with regards to mbox format; that was a slip of the tongue on my part, our groupware

Find peaks in dataset(x,y) and area for each peak
http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n3312061/x_and_y_values.txt x_and_y_values.txt I have the absorbance values form HPLC Chromatogram. I need to find the peaks in datapoints and area under each peak. I am not sure how how to find the peaks, I tried couple of libraries and peak function but they return me a list of values which when computed from area turns out to be huge nnumbers. In the

Policy/best practices on renaming functions in packages
R-developers: I'm beginning to work on a manuscript for a set of functions I developed for a package I have on CRAN (spatial.tools), and I'd like to rename a function in my package to give a better idea of what it does prior to manuscript submission -- is there a "safe" way to do a backwards-compatible rename of a function within a CRAN package (so functions that rely on the

Blank lines in DESCRIPTION
Dear R-devel list, I would like to enquire about the existence of blank lines in the DESCRIPTION file. Testing different possibilities with tools:::.read_description suggests that starting or ending with blank lines is acceptable while blank lines in the middle of the file get caught by out <- tryCatch(read.dcf(dfile, keep.white = .keep_white_description_fields), error = function(e)

LAYOUT=fs vs LAYOUT=maildir++ and quota
Hi everyone. I'm confused about LAYOUT=fs... Does using LAYOUT=fs breaks maildir++ quota, if I use this quota scheme? What are the advantages anyway of using LAYOUT=fs vs LAYOUT=maildir++ ? (it's not important in my case if users can't create folders with dots '.') Thanks in advance, Ezequiel

Maildir folders, separator = /, LAYOUT=fs (to support offlineimap)
I use offlineimap to pull down some Gmail mail stores. With offlineimap I use sep = / and nothing more exotic. With dovecot I can see INBOX, messages, and messages in top level folders but not subfolders. I'm dealing with folder structure that looks like this: /opt/gmail/joe/Later /opt/gmail/joe/Tech/Projects /opt/gmail/joe/Tech/Projects/Fun /opt/gmail/joe/Tech/Projects/Failed

LAYOUT=fs still uses 'dot' prefixes for folders
running latest dovecot HEAD, per, http://wiki.dovecot.org/MailLocation/Maildir i've set LAYOUT=fs, dovecot -n| grep -i layout mail_location: maildir:/data/mail:LAYOUT=fs and expect, maildirs to actually use physical directories, such as: * Maildir/folder/ * Maildir/folder/subfolder/ but, autocreate at login creates folders using "dot" prefixes, e.g., cd

How to remove leading dots from folder names with Layout=FS
We are looking to move to Dovecot from a customized Courier implementation.? Our current format is maildir-like. It's basically a filesystem layout...hierarchies are identified by real directories/subdirectories.? Our folder names do have a leading dot and for reasons related to other systems, we do not want to change our format at all.The Layout=FS is very close to working for us.? The?

Subfolders of Inbox with LAYOUT=fs
We've just converted to LAYOUT=fs. Some users had subfolders under Inbox, and for those users some MUAs no longer show those folders. The directory structure is that the cur, tmp and new folders are in the 'location' directory, but the subfolders are in $location/INBOX/$foldername. I am suspicious of this: 12 list "" INBOX * LIST (\HasNoChildren) "/"

Change in LAYOUT=fs between 1.2.9 and 2.0.19?
While testing an upgrade from Dovecot 1.2.9 (on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) to 2.0.19 (12.04 LTS) I encountered the following change in behaviour: In both setups, mail_location is defined as follows: mail_location = maildir:~/domains/%d/%n/.Maildir:LAYOUT=fs No other mail_location-related settings are set in the config. On 1.2.9 this leads to new mail being delivered to this example directory:

dsync migration from maildir layout=fs to maildir seperator / - folders or inbox but not both
Sigh ... ok so had if statement in SQL land that appended LAYOUT=fs if Maildir which explains the non-converting folder layout but NOT why the process is not picking up the actual contents of INBOX ... Maildir++ and fs-layout
Dear All, can I use Maildir++ Layout for private namespace and fs-layout for public namespace on the same server, provided that the hierarchy separator is the same (.)? Are all parts of dovecot (especially deliver, sieve and lmtp) compatible with fs-layout? Are there any restrictions I have to obey? - Chris
