Non-destructive deduplication
Greetings. I use Dovecot 2.2.29.1 as my IMAP server. Owing to a bug in my mail client [1], several unique messages (mostly in my Sent folder) have duplicate Message-ID headers. Dovecot itself doesn't seem to be bothered by this, though my mail client is confused by the false duplicates. (It screws up the threading display, and results in data loss when I run the client's deduplication

Fixing Ogg Vorbis files with incorrectly framed headers
Greetings. Possibly as the result of buggy tagging software, several hundred of my Ogg Vorbis files exhibit the following warning when examined by ogginfo: WARNING: Vorbis stream 1 does not have headers correctly framed. Terminal header page contains additional packets or has non-zero granulepos Nonetheless, most media players can play these files without any problem. A notable exception is

Is it possible to disable this check in 2.1.7? (without a patch and re-compile?)

Renaming not supported across conflicting directory - why?
I wonder what is point of checkign file/dir create mode like this? Here it makes problems since some folders have different permissions than others but both are accessible/writable by user. So renaming is possible (as renaming according to unix permissions). Yet dovecot artificially prevents this. /* if we're renaming under another mailbox, require its permissions to

Dovecot 2.1.10 Client = Thunderbird. Local disks. mbox format. antispam plugin, pipe backend, how to make it work?
tweaked the wrapper script to make it work. It seems like the sa-learn call silently fails: "/usr/local/bin/sa-learn-pipe.sh" 10L, 350C geschrieben root at vm10:/etc/dovecot/conf.d# cat /tmp/sa-learn-pipe.log starting log 25200-start (--username=johannes at rohr.org --spam) libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work 25200-end Does the above error message have anything

Downloading Package
Hello, I am a beginner in using R so my question could seem very simple. I would like to download the package multiv to do multivariate data analysis. The package I download seems to be a file meant for UNIX and I am using a Window OS. How could I download and install correctly this file? Thanks a lot _________________________________________________________________ MSN Messenger :

Recommendations on intrusion prevention/detection?
Dear all, what are the key strategies for intrusion prevention and detection with dovecot, apart from installing fail2ban? It is a pity that the IMAP protocol does not support 2 factor authentication, which seems to stop 90% of intrusion attempts in their tracks. Without it, if someone has obtained your password and reads your mail without modifying it, you will hardly ever notice. Is there a

Volume Size
Okay, I must be a total Nerf-herder, but I am trying to find info as to how big a volume samba can actually share - eg if I have a 10TB volume, can I share it via SMB (assuming everything else is ok)? Specifically for samba 3.0.10... No matter what and where I search I can't find a damn thing! Can anyone here shed some light? Thanks, Daniel.

Bug#463232: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386: boot failure with linux-image-2.6.23-1-xen-686
Package: xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386 Version: 3.2.0-2 Severity: normal I'm afraid this bug report will be somewhat unspecific. Please let me know what I need to do in order to extract more useful information out of xen. I have done the following to install xen: installed xen-hypervisor-3.2-1-i386, xen-utils-3.2-1, linux-image-2.6.23-1-xen-686 fixed /usr/sbin/update-grub (see bug #455706)

antispam plugin, pipe backend, how to make it work?
Hi, my setup is a dovecot 2.0.19 IMAP server on Ubuntu Precise with the antispam plugin in version 2.0+20120225-2 and spamassassin at version 3.2.2 I have been trying and failed to get the pipe backend of the antispam plugin to work. Spamassin by itself works, a manual call of sa-learn works fine. Bayes data is stored in a mysql DB. I have the following configuration in

[PATCH 0/2] ocfs2: two bug fixes about xattr and inline-data
Mark and Joel, I found two serious bugs about xattr and inline-data. the first bug: in ocfs2_mknod(), we check and found the ACL or security xattr entry could be set into inode in ocfs2_calc_xattr_init(), then don't reserve block for them. But in ocfs2_mknod_locked(), if we found ocfs2 support inline-data, then set id_count with the max_inline_data. After that, we set acl/security xattr

RFC: xencomm in common
Hi, xencomm is the ppc infrastructure to do hypercalls with guest physical addresses instead of virtual address. Because ia64 should also use physicall address, I think it''s better to re-use the ppc code and to put into common code. I''d propose to submit this patch is every part is OK (ie no NAK). This patch creates include/xen/xencomm_access.h which is to be included by

[PATCH 0/4] ocfs2: bugfix for hard readonly mount
Hi, All, These four patches are all related to ocfs2 on hard readonly mount. patch 1 fix oops when umount ocfs2 on hard readonly device. Because ocfs2_dismount_volume() will call ocfs2_cluster_hangup() and then call ocfs2_stack_driver_put(), will hit BUG_ON(active_stack == NULL). patch 2 fix oops when do ls or cat in ocfs2 on hard readonly device. Because ocfs2_open_lock() will call
