Sendmail + Deliver as an LDA
Need help with setup/config.
Current situation: (dovecot version : 1.1.7)
we have system users and virtual users. (with different domains)
Virtual users have procmail as LDA
Now we want "deliver" to become the LDA
I'm confused reading http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail

Dovecot user lookup from sendmail
Hi *
after trying everything I could think of and find on the web, I'm
totally stumped ... maybe someone give me some hints on what I'm doing
wrong, or where to look ...
I have an ancient customer box with sendmail & cyrus imap, with imap
using an LDAP database of users (no locally configured users), all of
which is working fine.
This machine needs to be replaced by a new

How to configure sendmail using dovecot lmtp
Hi,
I can't seems to find any posting on how to configure sendmail to use
dovecot as lmtp. All I see is using it as LDA. I am particularly interested
on how to tell sendmail to ask dovecot to deliver the message to the user.
In the wiki for lda it says to add the following in the sendmail config:

Use exim instead of sendmail with an LDA or LMTP transport.

Sendmail and Dovecot Delivery to Virtual Users
I'm new to dovecot and sendmail and my server doesn't forward mails to
'dovecot deliver' at all.
I was reading http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail and this
http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2009-June/040353.html from the mailling
list but I could figure it out myself. I someone could point me into the
right direction.
I'm confused with the config for LDA. Basically what I

Selective Sendmail Relaying.
Hi all,
I've been trying to hit on the right configuration combo to allow
relaying from specific users and/or domains to an internal box running
Sendmail.
Reading the docs at http://www.sendmail.org/m4/anti_spam.html#relay
and http://www.sendmail.org/m4/anti_spam.html#access_db_fine
I would appear that I should be able to all per-address relaying in
/etc/mail/access by enabling

Resend: How do I configure sendmail to accept emails for dovecot when dovecot has sql auth/user db.
Apologies for resending this, I am not sure it made it through the
first time..
---
Included below are my config files: sendmail.mc, dovecot.m4,
dovecot.conf, dovecot-sql.conf. Whenever I try to send email into
this system, it rejects it with user does not exist, however, the
user does exist as far as dovecot (imap) is concerned, it is in the
database.

sendmail & mail() in php
Hello everyone,
I tried to configure sendmail so that I can use mail() in php. I don't
host my email server, my ISP does. I just want to configure sendmail so
that it uses external email server (my ISP) to send mail. When I executed
mail(), i got no error report from php. I checked /var/log/maillog and it
indicated that the message was accepted for delivery. However, it didn't
