More on amavis/clam permission errors on Centos 6.3
I should probably find either the amavis or clam list(s) and take this
there?
Anyway, I have totally rebuilt my machine with clean installs. I have
spent time carefully (I hope!) studying the amavis and clamav conf files
before starting them and running the tests. Here is what I am getting:

Email pid issue
Hello gents,
First time poster here!
Current system running Centos 6.8. Buddy of mine posted a few days back about me wanting to move
from Postfix 2.6.x to 2.8 to above, still under centos 6.8. I might move over to 7, but probably
not for a while, don't have the resources presently to make this happen.

SELinux, Amavis, Clamav
Regarding the brilliant wiki site:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Amavisd?highlight=%28Amavis%29
I faced the following issue on CentOS 6.2:
"Spamassind" saves each message and its attached part in a folder in
clamd accesses the folder, creates itself a temporary folder and deletes
it afterwards. This was stopped by SELinux and caused the virus scan to
fail.
This action causes SE-Linux

Question about /etc/clamd.d/amavisd.conf
I don't know if this file comes from clam or amavis-new, but....
It contains the comment and command:
# Run as a selected user (clamd must be started by root)
User amavis
Is this conf file for clam or amavis?
As in /etc/clamd.conf we have:
# Run as another user (clamd must be started by root for this option to
work)
# Default: don't drop privileges
User clam

Clamd and Amavis
I'm trying to get amavis to play using clamd and tried to follow this:

qr/^.*?: (?!Infected Archive)(.*) FOUND$/ ],

New mailserver problems
Well, in part we will see if you get this and I get the return.
I JUST launched my new mail server after a few miscues. Actually the OS
is Redsleeve6, which is the arm port of Centos 6, and perhaps some of my
problems may come down to porting problems. But first, it may be that
despite my testing, I missed something in the configurations.

Problem with mail_location and INDEX location
HI,
I'm pulling my hair out a little trying to get dovecot to save it's
index locally rather than in the NFS mount. No matter what I do it seems
to save the indices in the Maildir on the NFS.
I'm using dovecot 2.0.18 on CentOS 6.3.
The relevant config I'm using:
mmap_disable = no
dotlock_use_excl = no # only needed with NFSv2, NFSv3+ supports O_EXCL and it's faster

when I try to install amavis from the tar file.
ERROR: MISSING REQUIRED BASIC MODULES:

Clamav question after upgrade to 5.3 and 0.95
Hi list,
I have installed ClamAV from rpmforge and followed the excellent CentOS
how to on installing amavisd - all has appeared to just work as
advertised - thanks to all those involved in getting these instructions
together.
Come time to upgrade to 5.3 and ClamAV 0.95 (logwatch has been
encouraging me to do the ClamAV upgrade for a week or two)
All appeared to work fine.
However I now notice

Invalid Headers
Hello all,
I have been trying to compare Dovecot to Cyrus and in trying to to
migrate some mail from Dovecot to Cyrus I am unable to do so because of
an invalid header. The From header is incorrectly written as From> as
opposed to the correct From: . Any idea what may be causing this and
how to fix it?
My setup is Fetchmail->Postfix->amavis-new->clamav->dovecot for dovecot

Re: problem in running amavisd-new with postfix on Centos4.0(problem solved)
hey friends,
my problem is solved, the culprit was the typo mistake in master.cf file of
postfix.
Thanks & Regards

problem in running amavisd-new with postfix on Centos4.0
hey friends,
I am trying to configure amavisd-new with postfix 2.1.5.
amavisd-new-2.4.1-1.el4.rf
spamassassin-3.0.5-3.el4
Mail-SpamAssassin-3.1.1
clamav-0.88.2-1
there are no Razor or Dcc files on the system.
I am getting this error when I try to send any mail.

Postfix on one host/Dovecot (mailboxes) on another - How?
Hi,
I'm using Dovecot 1.0.5 on OpenSUSE 10.3.
I run postfix/amavis/clamav on one host, postfix uses LDAP to identify whether or not users exist. On this same machine I was running dovecot, so I used dovecot LDA on Postfix master.cf (as mentioned on http://heinous.org/wiki/Virtual_Domains,_Postfix,_Dovecot_LDA,_and_LDAP#Postfix).
Now I want to run Dovecot on another machine, how should I
