dsync deleting too many emails (sdbox)
I'm using dsync to synchronize emails on a laptop where wifi connectivity sometimes fails in the middle of a sync. I have a shell script that runs dsync, and here is one line of it including the output of dsync: + dsync -f -m realmail mirror /home/paulproteus/projects/ssh-attach/run ssh rose.makesad.us dsync dsync-local(paulproteus): Error: dbox

Problem syncing e-mails with Outlook
Hello all, I am running dovecot- 2.3.5.2 with mdbox storage. I deleted the dovecot.index* from all my folders, which led to mails not being displayed. I rebuilt the indexes for all the users after that, using: doveadm force-resync -u user at domain "*" However, the problem now is that Outlook, configured for IMAP, is not able to sync the mails with the server. I can login to the server

Inconsistent search results and crash on force-resync
Hi, I am seeing inconsistencies in search results (finding 2 emails when only 1 exists, finding the email when it has been moved to another folder, etc). I figured I should run force-resync to fix any issues. I ran the following: doveadm -v force-resync -u <user> <mailbox> and I got some worrysome logs. - I should mention that I have been seeing some crashes of fts-lucene in my

Possible solr and indexing bug
Bug Report: We had one of our solr server down for a while, then observed a lot of "Warning: fscking index file " actions. Version 2.2.27 with auto fsck. A follow up investigation shows direct one to one relationship between solr error and subsequent fscking. The fscking lasts for quite a long time (for at least an hour) when the mailbox is concurrently accessed. Thank you. Netfront

Mdbox corruption
Hi, I have a "ubuntu10.04 + ext4-filesystem + dovecot-2.0.13 +mdbox" configuration in my server. It works fine with ~50k accounts. Recently happened a filesystem corruption in a device of StMailLocation and I fix with fsck.ext4. After this crash, one account began to show access timeout and errors like this on force-resync: # doveadm force-resync -u account INBOX doveadm(account):

Design: Asynchronous I/O for single/multi-dbox
The long term plan is to get all of Dovecot disk I/O asynchronous. The first step to that direction would be to make dbox/mdbox I/O asynchronous. This might also allow mbox/maildir to become partially asynchronous. http://www.dovecot.org/list/dovecot/2009-December/045481.html already started describing how the lib-storage API could be changed to support high-latency storages. Adding support for

e2fsck: bad magic number in super-block
Hi, I'm on kernel 2.14.13-ac8 running Redhat 7.1. I've successfully converted all my file system to ext3 and is working fine for a couple of weeks. However, I did a silly thing when I e2fsck (version 1.23) an ext3 /home partiction without umounting it. Now, I believe my partiton super-block is corrupted and the system wasn't able to mount /home. I tried as suggested to do a e2fsck -b

dbox redesign
This is about how to implement multiple msgs/file dbox format. The current v1.1's one msg/file design would stay pretty much the same and it would be compatible with this new design. dbox directories with multiple msgs/file would be like: ~/dbox/storage/ has the actual mail data for all mailboxes ~/dbox/mailboxes/ has subdirectories containing mailboxes and their indexes Also since dbox
