Off-site cloud backup (eg Amazon S3, Wasabi)
I?d like to synchronise our mail store to an Amazon S3 bucket or similar, for protection from ransomware. Server is running on macOS with maildir. Should I use a Dovecot process, rsync, a Mac app like Arq or Jungle Disk, or something else? Anyone have experience or opinions on this? suid bit files + securing FreeBSD
Hello everybody, I'm a newbie in this list, so I don't know if it's the appropriate place for my question. Anyway, I'd be happy to find out the solution. Please, has anyone simple answer for: I'm looking for an exact list of files, which: 1. MUST have... 2. HAVE FROM BSD INSTALLATION... 3. DO NOT NEED... 4. NEVER MAY... ...the suid-bit set. Of course, it's no problem to

If the QUEUE_NAME is omitted, all queues are listed. ...OK, so: [novosirj@njmsa ~]> /products/samba/bin/net rap printq list ljndemo No command: list

net rap share vs. net share
Hi All, I have been using the 'net rap share' command to enumerate Windows shares and CIFS shares hosted on Filers. I have realized though in some cases that using this command does not show all shares as does using 'net share'. I have looked at the shares hosted on this particular windows box and cannot find any difference between the ones that are enumerated using 'net rap

Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a Bug Report
Hi, there. While waiting for the encoder RC1, I will report some minor problems I experienced with Peter's Winamp decoder. First, I am using Nullsoft Vorbis Decoder v.1.11a with Winamp v.2.76 on Windows 98 SE. 1. When the buttons of Playlist Editor are extended, the part extended in playlist screen seems to be flickering when an Ogg file is being played. 2. I check the option of

For net command I was not able to make -k nor "--kerberos yes" m707:~# net rpc service list --kerberos=yes Could not connect to server 127.0.0.1 The username or password was not correct. net rap validate
I'm trying to validate user/password pair in a domain without actually being joined (no account in AD server). It is important for me to do it whith this particular condition. My Samba version doesn't implement this command yet (net rap validate). Is there another way to do it? My Samba version is 3.0.33. Should I upgrade to a specific version in which this command is already implemented?

Numbers behind "df" and "tune2fs"
Hello guys, I have some difficulties to understand what really are the numbers behing "df" and tune2fs. You'll find the output of tune2fs and df below, on which my maths are based. Here are my maths: A tune2fs on an ext3 FS tell me the FS size is 3284992 block large. It also tell me that the size of one block is 4096 (bytes if I'm not wrong?). So my maths tell me that the disk

Eclipse Helios on CentOS 5.5 (was Websites Up!)
> Then I hope to finish my tutorial on installing Eclipse > Helios for Centos 5.5 Is there anything special to be done? I just unzipped the SR1 distribution for RCP/RAP developers linux-gtk-x86_64 and it works without problem on an up to date CentOS 5.5 x86_64. (to be more precise: I install it as root under /opt, install some plugins like subclipse and regular users start it from there)

Tiff image handling like MODI
Greetings, I have been searching for some application with functionalities like MODI (Microsoft office Document Imaging) Many I have checked does not cut it or not cross platform. Evince just allows multipage viewing, not extraction of individual pages in to another file. GUI is a necessity. I am aware of tifflib, imagemagick, but but not sure about a decent GUI wrappers for them. The file

models for polytomous data
Hi all I have a dataset whose response is a categorical variable of the ordinal scale type (6 levels). I'm interested in building classification models, and I'm wondering if there is something implemented in R (or its packages) that I'm not aware of, to treat the ordinal scale measurements straightforwardly. I can think of the alternative of building a conditional (hierarchical)

multiple replications of a ts
Hello I have several replicates (30) of a -- short -- time series (19 obs) and I'd like to estimate the first few lags autocorrelation function. Is there an immediate way of handling multiple realizations when computing the ACF in R? I'm using R-1.4.1 on a Linux Debian box.
