maildir vs dbox?
I'm facing some issues on mdbox based backups. Backups are failing with dbox corruption messages. SiS is the greatest advantage though. However backups integrity is very important. If SiS/Deduplication is not a requirement stick to Maildir. Send admin kill request to server
Hi Fred, I am understand the requirements already a little bit better. What I have to Do is a HTTP GET with a Basic Authorization in the header. I have tested it with 'Postman' and it works fine with Icecast. But I have to do it with Javascript or JQuery. Therefore curl doesn't help me. I try to use Ajax for that, but something goes wrong. If I do it without Autorization, I got

Doubts about dsync, mdbox, SIS
I've been running continous dsync backups of our Maildirs for a few weeks now, with the destination dsync server using mdbox and SIS. The idea was that the destination server would act as a warm copy of all our active users data. The active servers are using Maildir, and has: $ df -h /usr/local/atmail/users/ Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/atmailusers

access to data denied
I have a standalone samba server for mailbackup purpose from Lotes Notes in a AD 2003 domain. I've created one share which holds the mailbackup-folders of my users. I've set the permissions on each folder so, that only users have access to their own mailbackup folder. drwxrwx- - - user1.root usersmailbackupfolder. I can write a backup.nsf to the usersmailbackuop folder. The permissions

doveadm -A backup
Hello, I am trying to backup all users mails using doveadm -Dv backup -A mdbox:/nasdrive/mailbackupfolder However the script is not doing the backup into individual folders but is trying to overwrite the data in /nasdrive/mailbackupfolder for every user. Logically it should write into /nasdrive/mailbackupfolder/user1 , /nasdrive/mailbackupfolder/user2 etc. I know we can run a shell

rsyncing Maildirs
Hi I'm trying to take a backup of all the users emails on a server using rsync, but there is probably something about the patterns I haven't understood quite. Every user has a folder called Maildir in their home directory. So the structure is like this: /home/user1/Maildir /home/user2/Maildir etc. I'm not interested in backing up the other folders that the users might

Dsync fails on second sync for folders with dot in the name
I'm in the processes of running our first dsync backup of all users (from maildir to mdbox on remote server), and one problem I'm hitting that dsync will work fine on first run for some users, and then reliably fail whenever I try a new run: $ sudo dsync -u janfrode at example.net backup ssh -q mailbackup at repo1.example.net dsync -u janfrode at example.net $ sudo dsync -u janfrode

Recycle Repository Issue
I have done some searching on the Internet, but not been able to find a solution to my problem. I hope you can help me with this. I have a server at home that runs on FreeBSD 10.3. The file system is ZFS. I have two ZFS pools: tank and fun. I share my ZFS file systems using Samba v4.6.2. When I add recycle bin functionality for a share like below, it work like a charm: [mac] path =

Mirroring two systems
Thanks for reading this question, First off all, i'm quit new working with rsync. What I want is to exactly mirror a directory from one system to another system including removing non existing files on the targen if they do not exist on the source. I though that adding the parameter --delete, would do the job, but nothing happens. The exact command I give is: /usr/local1/bin/rsync
