PATCH - add username_format to the PAM auth module
Hi there,
Other auth modules (eg passwd-file) allow a username_format to be
specified, but not the PAM module.
The use-case, is where I want a static userdb configuration which takes the
domain into account but still want to use PAM for authentication, eg:
userdb {
driver = static
args = uid=8 gid=12 home=/mnt/storage/mail/vhosts/%d/%n
}
passdb {
driver = pam
args = username_format=%n

PATCH: make local IP address available to auth modules
The attached patch makes the local IP address to which the client
connected available to the authentication modules; i.e., the local IP
address is available for substitution as %i for the mysql and pgsql
modules. We needed this feature to support thousands of our legacy
accounts which are authenticated by username/local_part (not the full
email address) and IP address (one per domain).

- RFC 4468 - Submission BURL
- RFC 4469 - IMAP CATENATE Extension

URLAUTH is added as a plugin so it can be disabled to satisfy site
security requirements.
Each user's URLAUTH keys for all mailboxes are stored in a file named

[PATCH] Add SCRAM-SHA-1 password scheme
Hello,
attached is an hg export on top of the current dovecot-2.2 branch, which
adds support for a SCRAM-SHA-1 password scheme.
Ideally I'd want doveadm pw's rounds flag to apply to this, but that's
currently specific to the crypt password scheme, so I left it out for now.

Florian Zeitz

Another minor IMAP LIST issue
I've just noticed that Dovecot 1.0-stable and 1.0-test78 don't include
mbox folders with names beginning with "." in the IMAP LIST output.
These are often used to store "hidden" folders for storing things like
IMAP client configuration (e.g. Pine 4.x, IMHO, Prayer). Usually the
user shouldn't be able to see these, but there are occassions when they
might. It seems

[PATCH] support OEM encoding in NTLM messages
Hello,
after I started to use dovecot as a backend for exim4 SMTP
authentication on my main mailserver, I noticed that some
clients don't advertise unicode support and so they can't
log in.
To fix the problem the attached patch allows use of OEM encoding
in NTLM messages.
Please consider applying.
Best regards.
P.S. I want to release exim4 patch in the near future, probably

doveadm mailbox command fails if backend has an IPv6 address
Hi,
some of my maintenance scripts weren't working as expected and I finally
found that this only happens if the user was mapped to a backend server
reachable via IPv6:
On a director:
doveadm mailbox status -u username messages Junk
returns
Junk messages=203 (if backend is connected via IPv4)
or
Lookup of host ipv6addr:542 failed: ... (if backend is connected via IPv6)

Patch to fix leak in imap_refresh_proctitle in beta[5, 6]
The "imap" process of dovecot-2.0.beta[5,6] grows very large (I impose no system limits), e.g. exceeding 4.8GB on a 64-bit system. These messages appear in the logs:

A couple of dovecot issues I've noted recently...
Timo et al.,
I haven't been reading the list in a while, but wanted to report back
that we've transitioned to dovecot 1.0.15 and things look to be working
very nicely. The platform is Solaris "Nevada" running on x86. I
have been saving up a couple of issues to bring to your attention.
On our server, we gather all core files, and so we get a good taste of

LSUB matches prefix bug?
I think I've found a minor bug in the LSUB command:
. LSUB "" "*"
gives
...
* LIST (\Noselect) "/" "#maildir"
^^^^
* LSUB () "/" "#maildir/test4"
where I have a namespace with prefix "#maildir/".
Here's a patch to make it not list the namespace prefix in an LSUB
command (or should it list it as 'LSUB

Problem redirecting email using pigeonhole 0.4.0 (with patch)
Hello,
Starting from the version 0.4.0 Pigeonhole adds "X-Sieve" and
"X-Sieve-Redirected-From" headers ending them with CR+LF, and then
copies the original message (including original headers) ending the
lines with LF-only. This causes troubles at least if using Exim (I
have not checked with other MTAs)- original message gets dropped, and
only the new pigeonhole-generated

Hi!
Nice to hear you are developing this, I'll add it to our wiki if it's
not there.
Please don't use net_transmit, it's going away. You should use ostream
and istream instead.
