Sharing nested folders / maildir variations?
Hey all, So I've got a shared namespace in dovecot where users can, via a custom control panel, share their folders into (which creates a symlink) in order to allow anyone on their domain to access it. I store mail in maildir. The issue is that when people share folders, they expect that when they make subfolders, those are automatically shared as they are contained within it.

Sieve global path?
I just checked with Thunderbird, SquirrelMail, and Roundcube.? The sieve directory is not in the overview. dovecot is highly configurable.? Ya think I may have configured mine where this is not a problem?? I have 9+ mail servers running this way. Maildir handling
Hi, we just setup a new mailserver for our company with some sieve filtering in place. Everything works as expected but there is one flaw. We setup the per user sieve filters in files within the users mailbox maildir as follows: lrwxrwxrwx 1 mail mail 21 Jan 13 17:20 .dovecot.sieve -> sieve/phpscript.sieve This link is actually picked up by dovecot and being announced as an IMAP

Transitioning away from mail_location = maildir:~
Hi, I have been using this setup for years: mail_home = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n mail_location = maildir:~ I have since learned that mail_home and mail_location should be different. I plan to use this: mail_home = /var/mail/vhosts/%d/%n mail_location = maildir:~/mail I would like the transition to be transparent for my email clients. I don't want mail/directories/sieve_scripts to

Courier migration to dovecot
Hi, I'm almost ready to migrate Courier to Dovecot 2.2.31 but I have one question about home and mail directory. It's good idea to have same directory form home and mail ? Which scenerio will be better and why ? For example: A) Home: /home/doamin/user1 Mail: /home/doamin/user1 B) Home: /home/doamin/user1/home Mail: /home/doamin/user1 C) Home: /home/doamin/user1/ Mail:

Concerning: in 0.99.10.7 - Maildir: LIST now doesn't skip symlinks
TSS/Dovecot: I saw the recent change in the ChangeLog about the 'subtraction' of the listing of symlinks. The point showed(minus): - Maildir: LIST now doesn't skip symlinks Does this truly mean the functionality was removed? I'd tried doing symlink'd maildirs in 99.10.6 w/ no luck and when I saw this change I hoped this was an addition, as it would be great in lieu of

ACL plugin when file in Maildir is not a directory
Hello Timo, On a production (by that I mean many users) dovecot-1.1.8/Maidir server where ACL plugin has been enabled, I ran on a log verbosity problem : For some reason (in fact, due to mbox -> Maildir migration script), some people have in their Maildir a .procmail.logfile file. The problem is that dovecot (or the ACL plugin) wants to find a dovecot-acl file in what it would like to be a

mbox or maildir?
I am using dovecot in an SMEServer (aka e-smith), and recently backed-up on one system and restored on another system the imap email directories. The trouble was that dovecot "guessed" the mail type wrongly, and I ended up with "empty" ~/Mail directories (did it create or populate these?), and full, but ignored ~/Maildir directories for every user. Could someone point me

GitHub Survey?
Renato, Let me be clear about my motivation on this particular question: I don’t like this variant, and I don’t want us to extra time discussing it at the BoF because we have enough things to go through. But that is only my personal opinion, and I avoid driving solely on my personal opinion, which is why this variant is present in the document. I believe data and facts are and the only way is to
