shared/public mailbox application
Hi Michael,
we migrated from Cyrus Shared Folders to Dovecot Public Folder.
Our setup with Dovecot:
- Public Namespace type=public
- prefix=NAMESPACE
- location=maildir:/var/vmail/public/domain.com/folder:INDEXPVT=~/public/domain.com/NAME
- list=children to show NAMESPACE only if acl is given
- Restart Dovecot
- cd /var/vmail/public/domain.com/NAMESPACE
- mkdir .NAME
- We utilise one user

shared/public mailbox application
Basically we alias NAME at domain.com to doveadm at domain.com. doveadm@ has a sieve-Script which files into the public folder. You could also configure a postfix transport which does the job.
Its necessary to overlook the whole process chain to properly configure everything. And a lot of try out :)

shared/public mailbox application
Thanks Tobias. Thanks for the detailed reply.
I think I see what you?re doing. But I?m unclear on something (since I?m a nube):
Can anyone send mail to NAME at domain.com <mailto:NAME at domain.com> and have it appear in the public mailbox?
If not, would it be enough to create a userdb entry which defines a pseudo-user NAME, including its home directory, such that imcoming

FW: shared/public mailbox application
No answer. Trying again. Surely someone with experience with public
mailboxes can offer some insight on whether the application below should be
a public or shared namespace ...
Thanks
Michael

It's been a while and I'm none the wiser.
Still getting lmtp and imap errors.

Yes, that is what I did and it all works apart from the error message on
the server about the missing home dir
The doc seems to indicate that a home dir is needed.
Thanks,
Leo

name resolves to public address - should resolve to private...
On my network I have one Samba PDC (Version 3.0.28 running on FreeBSD
6.3-PRERELEASE), one mail server (FreeBSD + Dovecot + Postfix) and a
dozen or so WinXP/Win2K machines. The WinXP/Win2K machines all have
static IP addresses.
The Windows clients are configured to look up the Samba PDC machine for
both DNS and WINS. The Windows clients seem to be able to find other
machines as well as the PDC:

I made a mistake when I moved dovecot to a new server and only specified
mail_location instead of mail_home
All I have in 10-mail.conf is
---------
mail_location = maildir:/home/vmail/mailboxes/%d/%n

All emails for the few accounts I have are in these mailboxes and I can
get/see them via my mail client
I do, however, get the following error

sip.conf and SIP client host= not recognized in some cases
I am seeing an issue with getting certain sip devices to be recognized as
defined SIP clients host= in the sip.conf and the only deference that I can
find btw sources that work and don't work is that devices that send packets
with an Initial Via header of themselves appears to work and pick the

Can a matrix have 'list' as rows/columns?
After a lot of processing I get a matrix into M. I expected each row and
column to be a vector. But it is a list.
R-Inferno says...
"Arrays (including matrices) can be subscripted with a matrix of positive
numbers. The subscripting matrix has as many columns as there are dimensions
in the array—so two columns for a matrix. The result is a vector (not an
array)

xyplot : superimposed 2 groups in different panels
Hello,
I would like to plot the following xyplot : for each date of fff (1 date per
panel), bbb=f(aaa) for the two groups (ddd=1 and ddd=2) superimposed.
I can do it by group (see below) but not together.
I looked at http://lmdvr.r-forge.r-project.org/figures/figures.html but I
haven't found what I was looking for (to be honest, I haven't understood all
the examples).
Any help will be

distuguish between different domains
Hello!
I asked myself wether it is possible to distinguish between
different doamins in dovecot so that a user only sees his
mailbox when he is connecting with user1 at aaa.de specifying
the server with mail.aaa.de for example.
So the server does not handout the mailbox for user1 at bbb.de
when the client connects to mail.aaa.de as user1 at bbb.de
I have this problem with roundcube. Dovecot is

[WISH / PATCH] possibility to split string literals across multiple lines
Hi,
I would really like to have a way to split long string literals across
multiple lines in R.
Currently, if a string literal spans multiple lines, there is no way to
inhibit the introduction of newline characters:
> "aaa
+ bbb"
[1] "aaa\nbbb"
If a line ends with a backslash, it is just ignored:
> "aaa\
+ bbb"
[1] "aaa\nbbb"

Some LDA questions!
Hi there!
I have been setuped exim and dovecot.
Exim uses dovecot-lda to deliver mails to mailbox.
Some configurations of exim:

? message_prefix =
? message_suffix =

nls() fails on a simple exponential fit, when lm() gets it right?
Dear R-help,
Here's a simple example of nonlinear curve fitting where nls seems to get
the answer wrong on a very simple exponential fit (my R version 2.7.2).
Look at this code below for a very basic curve fit using nls to fit to (a)
a logarithmic and (b) an exponential curve. I did the fits using
self-start functions and I compared the results with a more simple fit
using a straight lm()

About the interaction A:B
Suppose, 'fr' is data.frame with columns 'Y', 'A' and 'B'. 'A' has levels 'Aa'
'Ab' and 'Ac', and 'B' has levels 'Ba', 'Bb', 'Bc' and 'Bd'. 'Y'
columns are numbers.
I tried the following three sets of commands. I understand that A*B is
equivalent to A+B+A:B. However, A:B in A+B+A:B is
