inbox parameter is ignored within location config for public namespaces?
Hello,
i already asked a similiar question some month ago but still have no
fix for my problem :-(
This is my global location option in 10-mail.conf:
mail_location =
maildir:/home/vmail/%d/%n/MAILDIR:INBOX=/home/vmail/%d/%n/MAILDIR/.INBOX:INDEX=/home/vmail/%d/%n/INDEX/
This works fine, until i'm using a public namespace.
The following namespace is a normal user too, every mail to bos at

Public Namespace and INBOX
Hello,
i added a existing MAILDIR as a Public Namespace and i can subscribe to
this Namespace without a problem.
I can access every folder except the INBOX. Thunderbird just shows a GREY
"INBOX".
Is there any way to access the INBOX of a maildir?
Thanks

Right way to share some global mailboxes
Hello,
i'm using Dovecot since a long time but now I need to share folders for
global mail adresses like info@ and support@ between all users.
What is the right way to share this mailboxes between many users (everyone

My config for location is:
mail_location = maildir:/home/vmail/%d/%n:INDEX=/home/vmail-indexes/%d/%n
And now i have a folder like /home/vmail/bar.com/foo

I need global email addresses like:

Every address with own Sieve-rules for filtering and sorting of incoming

Now every user needs access to this folders, but how? How should i create
the "global" addresses?

Sieve command line tool status for Refiltering
Hello,
is there any update about the sieve command line tool?
I really need some way to refilter my mails without loosings flags and without
moving all messages in a different folder.
This is possible with procmail via direct access to the file system
without the need
of getmail.
Thanks

Too stupid for sieve (former maildrop user)
Hello,
I just migrated from Postfix/Courier/Maildrop to
Postfix/Dovecot/Deliver/Sieve and don't unterstand the right syntax
for sieve :(
I searched and found many small examples and many links to the RFC,
but nothing was usefull for me (or i didn't unterstand it)
I installed the latest Dovecot-Sieve (hg).
Examples from my maildrop config:
# Filter FROM
if($E =~ /name at domain1\.tld/)

Dovecot/Sieve shortcuts?
Hi,
Is there a clean way to match on an email address the way procmail
^TO_ did? that was a macro which expanded to
(^((Original-)?(Resent-)?(To|Cc|Bcc)|(X-Envelope |Apparently(-Resent)?)-To):(.*[^-a-zA-Z0-9_.])?)
so you could write
* ^TO_dovecot
dovecot
and grab messages to the list. In sieve, I find myseld writing
["To","cc"] and wonder if there's a better way.

Fixed mailbox id?
Hello,
I have many Sieve rules and searching for a way to "track"
renamings/moving of mailboxes (folders) on my IMAP server.
Is there a unique ID for every folder available? I don't think there,
i found no ID inside my folders :(
If not, it think i need to create a ID-file for every folder and after
that i can track the folders and update the rules =)
Thanks

For now got it working setting up nginx and strip down the header, but I
think it isn't the proper solution.

please help this newbie get started
Hi, everyone,
1. As advised in?Debugging Authentication, I turned on auth_debug and auth_debug_passwords, and now in the mail log I get an additional message:
dovecot: auth: passwd(xxx,xxx,<40AjQMFHSLVLGJAC>): invalid password field '*'
Of course neither the password I tried nor the actual password was '*'. That's what's in /etc/passwd, but dovecot isn't just
