I am using Webrick as the server with Rails 1.1.2 and mysql 5.0.21. I have dug up other issues people have had with mysql dropping connections after 8 hours, and the supposed fix of adding an

After some hrs of successful working, dovecot logs shows the connection inactive problem with pop3 & imap server, & it starts rejecting the connection requests from clients. The problem goes away once we restart dovecot. The

Solaris 8 password inactivity with openssh
All, We have recently updated our password aging to include setting inactivity days. We are running ossh 4.1p1 in a Solaris 8 environment. It appears that ossh isn't picking up on inactivity. Accounts that have been inactive still prompt to change passwords - if you telnet the same servers you get kicked out immediately. On the Solaris 9 servers running SUN's ssh the inactive accounts are

Asterisk (or maybe Zaptel) goes to "sleep" after inactivity?
Hi all, Noticed a curious issue in my testing setup for a faxing system I'm putting together, but it looks like if I let the lines all sit idle for a few days (no one uses this yet, so the whole thing really does sit idle until I do testing on it or something else), something I believe on my Asterisk end goes to a kind of "Sleep". It's hard to describe really, but I'm not

Controlling inactivity timeout for IMAP
I have a problem with a user who uses a wireless carrier that keeps changing his IP as he travels throughout the city. From the perspective of our dovecot IMAP server, the user keeps logging in from another IP, and after a short while, hits up against the mail_max_userip_connections limit. It takes 30 minutes before those orphaned connections times out. Is there any way to decrease the IMAP

timeout after inactivity on mount.cifs
Hi, I'm trying to backup a directory on a Windows 2008 (fully updated) I'm running Debian testing. (kernel version: 4.9.6-3, mount.cifs version: 6.6) I'm basically mounting a share with mount -t cifs and tar the content of a directory. I didn't have problems with old debian (probably sqeeze). Now I occasionally get in dmesg: cifs vfs: error -32 sending data on socket to
