Per-protocol ssl_protocols settings
Sorry for the bump...
Anyone know if it is possible to have multiple protocols instances with
different ssl_protocols settings?
Regards.

ZFS on Linux repository
Hi list,
we all know why ZFS is not included in RHEL/CentOS distributions: its
CDDL license is/seems not compatible with GPL license.
I'm not a layer, and I do not have any strong opinion on the matter.
However, as a sysadmin, I found ZFS to be extremely useful, especially
considering BTRFS sad state. I would *really* love to have ZFS on Linux
more intergrated with current CentOS.

Hi Pavel, this is bad news :(
So, in your case at least, Gluster was not stable? Something as simple
as an update would let it crash?

Dovecot, pigeonhole and hardlinks
Hi list,
many moons ago I asked about preserving hardlink between identical
messages when pigeonhole (for sieve filtering) was used.
The reply was that, while hardlink worked well for non-filtered
messages, using pigeonhole broke the hardlink (ie: some message-specific
data was appended to the actual mail file). Here you can find the

Hardlink+Sieve has never worked. The fix is a bit complicated. Here's my

Deleted symlinks when receiveing files with the same name
Hi list,
I would like to know if the following rsync's behavior can be
changed/modified.
I noticed that when rsync receive a file for which the local filesystem
already has a symlinks with the same path/name, it _first_ delete the
symlink, _then_ it start the transfer.
I think there are two problems with this approach:
- it completely ignores the content of the symlinked files, which can

Ok, never run Gluster with anything less than a replica2 + arbiter ;)

Windows guest skipping chkdsk if using Spice display
Hi all,
as per subject, when a Windows guest using a Spice display is rebooted
with a planned chkdsk, the consistency check is always skipped.
It seems that the Spice display issues some "phantom" keystrokes, which
are then intended by Windows as the "skip chkdsk at boot" signal.
I tried to use a Spice display with no additional features (ie: USB
redirection), but to no

GlusterFS as virtual machine storage
Ciao Gionatan,
I run Gluster 3.10.x (Replica 3 arbiter or 2 + 1 arbiter) to provide
storage for oVirt 4.x and I have had no major issues so far.
I have done online upgrades a couple of times, power losses, maintenance,
etc with no issues. Overall, it is very resilient.
Important thing to keep in mind is your network, I run the Gluster nodes on
a redundant network using bonding mode 1 and I have

GlusterFS as virtual machine storage
Solved as to 3.7.12. The only bug left is when adding new bricks to
create a new replica set, now sure where we are now on that bug but
that's not a common operation (well, at least for me).

Samba local user without /etc/passwd
Hi list,
I have a (naive?) question about samba local users.
My system: CentOS 6.6 w/Samba 3.6, connected to an AD Domain through
Winbind.
When creating a local user, I always first create a Unix user with
passwd and then I use smbpasswd -a <unixuser> to establish the mapping
between the tdbsam database and the local /etc/passwd file.
I wonder if, using the tdbsam in conjunction with

Per-protocol ssl_protocols settings
I performed a quick test and it seems that the "ssl_protocols" setting is per-IP only and shared among all listeners defined for that address. As you want this setting to be active for one specific "inet_listener" only (with port 10995 in your case), dovecot would have to permit the "ssl_protocols" directive in that scope, which it doesn?t.
As a workaround I suggest

GlusterFS as virtual machine storage
Hi all,
I would like to ask if, and with how much success, you are using
GlusterFS for virtual machine storage.
My plan: I want to setup a 2-node cluster, where VM runs on the nodes
themselves and can be live-migrated on demand.
I have some questions:
- do you use GlusterFS for similar setup?
- if so, how do you feel about it?
- if a node crashes/reboots, how the system re-syncs? Will the VM

Hi Aki, I probably misunderstood yor previous reply. So, the index will
be fixed when either:
- running doveadm force-sync
- accessing the mailbox (ie: via IMAP).
This means that removing an email from the filesystem (ie: a u.* file)
and the index cache file (dovecot.index.cache) should be

Libvirt behavior when mixing io=native and cache=writeback
Hi all,
I write about libvirt inconsistent behavior when mixing io=native and
cache=writeback. This post can be regarded as an extension, or
clarification request, of BZ 1086704
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1086704)
On a fully upgraded CentOS6 x86-64 machine, starting a guest with
io=native and cache=writeback is permitted: no errors are raised and the

Questions about hardlinks, alternate storage and compression
Hi all,
I have some questions about hardlinks, alternate storage and
compression. I already scanned the list for related information and I
have an idea of how things works, but I would like to have a definite
answer.
System spec:
- CentOS 6.6 x64
- dovecot-2.0.9-8.el6_6.4.x86_64 RPM package/version
- sdbox mail store
