Dovecot Virtual Users with Sendmail
I'm trying to get Dovecot working with Virtual Users and Sendmail on OpenIndiana 151a7. OpenIndiana is the Open Source continuation of OpenSolaris after Oracle tried to kill it off a couple of years ago shortly after acquiring Sun Microsystems. I'm not sure if this is so much a Dovecot problem, as much of a Sendmail problem. I thought this would probably be a better list to start with,

Dovecot LMTP does not pass envelope recipient +detail to sieve
I found this[1] thread that describes the same problem with dovecot-LDA, but the solution (add X-Original-To: header) has no effect with LMTP. My sendmail LMTP configuration: FEATURE(`local_lmtp',`[IPC]',`FILE /var/run/dovecot/lmtp') Sendmail's address test indicates that sendmail is providing user+detail to LMTP (see below). Except for this problem, dovecot, LMTP, and sieve

Issues with Plus addressing and detail part of subaddress.
Hi all, So, it's been a while. I'm just ramping back up with Dovecot after a hiatus of a few years. I've been using it fine, complete with Sieve, for about a year, with little or no issues. I finally got around to setting up a second account, to start figuring out how I want to do some plus address filtering. In a nutshell, I want to put mail for foo+bar in foo's 'bar'

Deliver, sendmail & envelope From_
Sorry, couldn't find this in the archives. Under freebsd 4.x, the native mail.local that sendmail uses by default writes From_ lines that include the origin address. This is very readily parsable and handy for quick greps in mboxes. But deliver defaults it to MAILER-DAEMON. I see you can specify the envelope From_ with "-f", but I'm not sure how that's useful. Can solaris sendmail use dovecot lda
Hello, on a Solaris 9 system with dovecot 1.2.14 installed I want to replace the sendmail local delivery agent 'mail.local' with the dovcot LDA. The wiki page http://wiki.dovecot.org/LDA/Sendmail did not really help me, because there are only linux specific tipps I am not able to apply to solaris sendmail.cf. So how can I tell solaris sendmail to use dovecots LDA instead of mail.local?

deliver to root
Hi, we use dovecot 1.1.11 on a RH Server with sendmail. Local delivery is done with deliver: Mlocal, P=/usr/local/libexec/dovecot/deliver, F=lsDFMAw5:/|@qSPfhn9, S=EnvFromL/HdrFromL, R=EnvToL/HdrToL, T=DNS/RFC822/X-Unix, A=deliver -d $u This setup works without issues for us, but mail to root has a problem with deliver: deliver(root): Mar 04 16:31:31

I should be good, but no. :) If I do "host mail.xyz.com" I get the correct address and if I "telnet mail.xyz.com 25" I get a connection. however when I do a test mail - its trying to RELAY to another host. Sendmail and deliver LDA exits with EX_TEMPFAIL on overquota
Hi all, I have setup dovecot 1.1.4 and sendmail 8.14.3 with dovecot LDA on linux (RHEL5 on x86_64). I have deliberately set a very low quota (4MB) on a test account, while the actual disk usage is 5MB at the moment, in order to test overquota behaviour.. When I send an email to this account, sendmail accepts the email and tries to deliver it. Deliver fails to save in INBOX and returns an

Getting duplicates despite trying hard to match lock styles
I'm attempting to replace (a) a very old setup that has POP (qpopper) access to inboxes and a separate UW IMAP server that provides folders, with (b) a shiny new mail setup with dovecot providing both inboxes and IMAP support. For the new mail server I created a virtual machine running a minimal Fedora 16 installation and installed sendmail, MIMEDefang, SpamAssassin, ClamAV, procmail, and

problems with authentication
Hi, I have some problems I'm using fetchmail to get my mail from the server to a local server, but the problem is that my user name of the mail is "user at virtualdomain" and I can't make a system user with "@" on centos. So, I want to know how can I tell to dovecot the user "user at virtualdomain" is associate to a sistem user "user.virtualdoman".

How do I configure sendmail to accept emails for dovecot when dovecot has sql auth/user db.
Included below are my config files: sendmail.mc, dovecot.m4, dovecot.conf, dovecot-sql.conf. Whenever I try to send email into this system, it rejects it with user does not exist, however, the user does exist as far as dovecot (imap) is concerned, it is in the database. THANKS - Yossie # for i in /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf /

snapshots with virsh in a pacemaker cluster
Hi, i have a two node cluster with virtual guests as resources. I'd like to snapshot the guests once in the night and thought i had a procedure. But i realize that things in a cluster are a bit more complicated than expected :-)) I will shutdown the guests to have a clean snapshot. I can shutdown the guests via pacemaker. But then arises the first problem: When i issue a "virsh
