Postfix Dovecot LDAP setup
[EDIT]: Sorry about the second mail. ignore the first one - it had try &
and error mistakes in. Problem is still the very same as explaned below.
Thanks a lot.
Hi,
since days I'm trying to substitude my SQL based Postfix/Dovecot mail
server by a LDAP based setup. Everything seems to go smooth so far -
thanks to the many how to and Dovecot wiki. Unfortunately I'm
struggeling,

I just checked my ulimit again and it really seems like it hhas more
than enough - so I still don't understand what I've configured wrong here ;/

imap-login: Fatal: pipe() failed: Too many open files
Hi
I keep on getting errors and can't connect/login to Dovecot. I did my
research but unfortunately without success. It is for sure not ulimit
because ulimit is set to unlimited per default already. Still , it
complains about "Too many open files" but this is a test system and the
service dovecot and postfix have just been started. No one except me is
testing on this system.

I also keep on getting funny errors of dovecot EVEN THOUGH I
authenticated successfully through SMTP (Dovecto SASL) ?!?!
Just for debugging this entire issue I set those parameters:
debug_level = -1
auth_verbose = yes
auth_verbose_passwords = yes
auth_debug = yes
auth_debug_passwords = yes
mail_debug = yes
verbose_ssl = yes

OpenSSH forcing the signature to SHA1.
Hello folks,
I am new here, so please be gentle :), and any help will be appreciated.
Essentially what I am trying to do is, to use Jsch ( the java
implementation of SSH client). it has support for Public key based
authentication.
Since there is a requirement for FIPS enablement, we are trying to use the
Algorithm SHA256withRSA, instead of SHA1withRSA.
When the code tries to verify the

2BCT last mile... Hopefully
Ok, so I've made progress on 2BCT (2 B-Channel Transfer). I'm assuming that
the debug info below shows that XO doesn't have 2BCT enabled on my line, but
if anybody can confirm that'll let me be way more indignant. J

Hello, I've been out of the sysadmin game for some time and I've recently
setup a mail server. Everything is working except for the quota, which I
believe is likely an error in how I'm using my SQL queries. Any guidance,
pointers, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it is an sql config error?

Dovecot 2 fails after correct login
Hello
I installed dovecot 2.0.9 (and dovecot-mysql!) on my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS root-server to work together with Postfix 2.9.1-4
After some struggle, I got Postfix's auth working, using dovecot for smtp-authentification with mysql.
But dovecot himself is not working properly. When I connect, after giving plaintext password I read the error in the client (I connect for debug reasons with a

PRI Gurus ONLY - Too complex of an issue
Hi Guys,
Full PRI installed in Canada with Sangoma A101DE and Asterisk 1.4.21.2,
LibPRI 1.4.10.
Placing a call into PRI and then transfering that call out to another
number. Problem is that the call rings out but the moment the other party
pickups both legs of the call are disconnected give Cause code 16.

PRI - Native ZAP bridge fails - Is this my patch?
Hi Guys,
I am calling out 416-999-1111 on Channel 1 of PRI and then calling
416-999-2222 on Channel 2 of PRI. When the two channels are going to be ZAP
native bridged, both channels hangup and CLI show PRI cause (16).
Asterisk Verbose *(Channel 1 already connected to party)*:

-- Called g0/4169992222

PRI Gurus ONLY - Too complex of an issue - SOLVED
Told you it was too complex of an issue :-) I figured to do this in
zapata.conf and all is fine now:
transfer=no
That was the magic two letter which was sending a request for RLT feature on
the line. Set transfer to "no" and all worries gone.
Thanks for the input everyone.

Bundled Netscape DS 5.x schema in Samba3.0rc2
Hi All,
The bundled "samba-schema-netscapeds5.x" file provides the schema for Samba
2.2.x attributes not 3.x. I have successfully imported this schema into the
iPlanet directory server, and then run the smbldap-migrate-accounts.pl script.
This created posixAccount objects but not sambaAccount objects. I later learned
that the script calls smbldap-useradd.pl which is designed to create

I am turning crazy. I try to integrate Asterisk 11.5.1 into Samba4 LDAP,

PLAIN-MD5 passwords?
After I found out that {CRYPT} doesn't support passwords longer than 8
characters, I decided to switch over to MD5 for user passwords in my LDAP
database. However, while I have no problem with Postfix + SASL, Dovecot fails
to authenticate.
Relevant bits from /etc/dovecot-ldap.conf:
user_attrs = mailAddress,,,,,

userdb username changed
Hi!
I'm playing with a postfix + dovecot + mysql test setup, and noticed
something strange. It seems that despite the "username changed" line,
auth returns the original username:

dovecot-ldap.conf.ext for FreeIPA usage
Hello,
I'm figuring out how to auth users against FreeIPA and I wonder if
someone did this without GSAPI.
My users are stored in a mysql DB where I wonder what I shall use as
authname, the username or the mailaddress. As the mailaddress is
always unique it could be best but if a user has multiple
mailaddresses under seperate domains username might be better.
Any clue here and maybe an
