rsync --daemon only binding against IPv6
Hi! We (NetBSD pkgsrc) got the following bug report: http://www.NetBSD.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=18134 In short, it says that rsync-2.5.5 does not bind to a IPv4 port (it binds only to an IPv6 port) when used with rsync --daemon, making it impossible to use rsync as rsync server under NetBSD 1.5.2 Any hints on this one? Also, one patch we have in pkgsrc seems not to have been

ao: Sun audio plug-in
Here's the promised Sun audio system plug-in. I have tested this on OpenBSD. It should work without changes on NetBSD, too. Jeremy, could you please verify this? After a few minor tweaks it now also compiles on Solaris 2.7. Alas, I can't verify whether it actually plays anything there. I guess this could also with little effort be made to work on SunOS4. dovecot & Apple Mail & maildir & lots of Mail
Hi! I have dovecot 2.1.12 running on a mail server, and recently configured Apple Mail to connect to it using secure IMAP, for the first time. At the beginning it just showed the inbox and everything was fine, but then I wanted to look at some of my folders and found the 'subscribe' menu. When I opened it, Apple Mail went to discover what mailboxes there are, and that's where my

index matter
Hi, I have a question about the following explanation; IndexFiles.txt ------------------------------------------------------ If index files are missing, Dovecot creates them automatically when the mailbox is opened. ------------------------------------------------------ Are they made based on which information? Thanks. Yoko -------------------------------------- Enjoy MLB with MAJOR.JP!

dovecot & Apple Mail & maildir & lots of Mail
Hi, Using Mac Mail with 9 mail accounts, more than 150 folders, and 1000s of mails, I get far too many problems lately, and not only on dovecot, so I would say the problem lies with Mac Mail, and even more if you installed Yosemite. As far as I know dovecot handle very well accounts with 100000s email even if the size is very big. And BTW, looking for a fast and reliable mail client for Mac, to

Dovecot - Microsoft Azure AD
Hello, I am currently trying to connect my Dovecot mail server to Microsoft's Azure-AD and use it as password and user database. I am using version 2.3.7.1. Using the Azure-AD as passdb already works. In this context I noticed that the scope implementation is not yet merged. Since I haven't found any hints for an OAuth2 userdb implementation yet, I wanted to ask if there are any plans

Clear text_area value onfocus
Hi! I have a "text_area" that looks like this... <%= text_area ''business'', ''otherDigitalDesc'', "cols" => 25, "rows" => 4, "value" => "Enter Description if Yes..." %> Right now, if I submit it, it adds "Enter Description if Yes" into the database. It would be nice to not have it enter

fcgi to run cgi scripts
Dear experts, I have rail site that is running lighttpd and fcgi. I want the default domain to serve the rails application, and I also want to have a virtualhost (bugs.mysite) to resolve to a bugzilla instance. Bugzilla is basically Perl application called through CGI. I tried to find pointers on how to set fcgi to run both rails dispatcher and other cgi scripts in a different virtualhost, and

hosting multiple rails apps in one webroot?
It''s actually REALLY easy with lighttpd on linux. Two apps... Myserver.com/code/ => /apps/code/ Myserver.com/test/ +> /apps/test/ Each application needs this in the environment.rb /apps/code/config/environment.rb ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root = "/code" /apps/test/config/environment.rb ActionController::AbstractRequest.relative_url_root

WinXP - Can Join 2.2.2 domain - Not log on
I have read through the mail archives to find a solution to my problem... to no avail. Here is the issue: I have a Samba 2.2.2 acting as a PDC, with Win2k I can join the domain and logon as a domain user. No problem. (So it is working and set up properly). With WinXP - Pro, I can join the domain, successfully. However, once I do the reboot I cannot logon as a domain user as I did with

Dovecot keeps creating info files in mail directory instead of home
I've been trying to troubleshoot this for a while now, and I'm really at a loss. My userdb is set up correctly to return home, and mail, and a test with 'doveadm user' verifies this: # doveadm user user at domain field value uid 1000 gid 1000 home /var/domain/user mail maildir:/var/mail/user at domain I've reloaded, restarted, stopped and started dovecot
