Liebert UPS, serial cable questions
Hi,
I have a Liebert GXT2-1000RT230 UPS that is connected to my server
using a serial cable.
I have no idea to what port exactly it is connected so my first
question is: how do I find out what /dev/tty** should I use?
Do I need to install a device driver for it? Where do I find it?
What should I use and how do I do so the server shuts down if the
battery level is low?
Yes, I'm a newby,

create function to solve derivative
Readers,
A data set comprises
A B C
10 6 .2
20 7 .4
30 8 .16
40 9 .0256
My requirement is to obtain the derivative for values of A with
respect to B, create a function in R and plot this derivative against
another variable (e.g. values in column C).
Have searched the mailing list and found reference to a function 'D',
but the help accessed via '?D' and '?deriv' does not

Interpreting R -results for Bivariate Normal
HI Guys,
I know that this forum is not for homework but I am trying to interpret R
output code.
I was just wondering if someone might be able to help.
I have been given the following.
For (X1,X2) distributed bivariate normal with parameters
mu1 = 5.8
mu2 = 5.3
sd1 = sd2 = 0.2
and p = 0.6
The r-code and inpit/output are as follows
input
m <- 5.3 + 0.6*(6.3 - 5.8)
s <-

Multi-line string constants: proposed patch
R 1.9.1 requires multi-line strings to contain a backslash at the
end of each line (except the last line). As noted by Mark
Bravington (http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/02b/5199.html)
this requirement appears to be undocumented.
In S-Plus 6.2, multi-line strings do not need a backslash for continuation.
I recently (http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/devel/04b/0256.html)

Bug in driver-mysql.c + fix
I tried to use MySQL stored procedures from dovecot:
password_query = CALL user_pass_check('%n', '%d', '%w')
user_query = CALL user_info('%n', '%d')
This failed with the message:
User query failed: PROCEDURE imap.user_info can't return a result set in the given context
The root of this problem is that mysql_real_connect() needs to be called with

Belkin F6C1250EITW-RK
I am looking at one of these, see:
http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=14622&category_id=216&manufacturer_id=0&tid=f6c1250eitw-rk#
I can't see it on the compatability list ... but that doesn't mean that it doesn't work:
* it could work, but it isn't on the list
* it could be listed under a different (perhaps US) part number
Can any one please tell
