/dev/md1 => 93% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up. - what would be safe to delete in /boot ?
Hello CentOS users,
in the recent time I keep getting the logwatch warnings from my 2 dedicated
servers running CentOS 7.4.1708.
I guess because of the numerous kernel updates (because of
Spectre+Meltdown) in the near past?
Could someone please suggest me, which files in my /boot partition would be
safe to delete?
I would like to avoid the situation of having to boot the rescue partiton
etc.

Hello all

installed Tomcat 8 from tomcat.apache.org. The installations went fine but
ive been noticing that the VM,which is running CentOS 7.2, has been
freezing periodically. This morning when I checked the VM i saw the

Automatic updates applying after reboot
Hello,
I have noticed something I consider "a bug". Running a CentOS-7-x86_64 with kernel 3.10.0-327.13.1 and Gnome 3.14.x, my systems detects some available updates, notifies me at top bar and, if I close session, Gnome ask me if I want to apply these "pending" updates and, then, execute "shutdown" or "restart".
My questions/problems are two:

Sorry to say that, but this list lives in user space. If your kernel

Mounting share using cifstab fails with NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi,
I have a samba share on a linux server which I can access without
problems from Windows XP.
When I access the share from a different linux machine using smbclient
\\\\Server\\Share -U username I get a connection to the share.
When put //Server/Share /mnt/mountpoint cifs
username=UserName,password=XXXXXXXX,uid=1234,gid=5678 into
/etc/samba/cifstab
I get mount error(13): Permission

username change
Hi,
I need to change the unix username on a samba server. How can I change
the samba username stored in passwd.tdb
It is important not to loose the domain integration. The name of the
corresponding profile on the windows machine need not change.
When the user information was stored in smbpasswd, I could simply rename
the user in the file. How do I do that in passwd.tdb?

R CMD check: checking for undocumented objects ... WARNING
Dear List,
I have a problem building an R package using R 1.7.1 that I cannot resolve
myself. R CMD check tells me that functions I documented properly in Rd-files
are not documented and gives a TeX error at the end, altough the Rd files
check is OK. I have three fucntions, one gets through without complaining, the
other two don't. All the docu for the example data is also OK.

inout() in splancs working properly?
I have a problem with function 'inout()' in package 'splancs' on CRAN-R

The following script produces and draws points and a polygon-surrounded
area. Repeating the same script many times shows, that points on the
polygon-line often, but not always, are outside of the polygon-area.
