C8 install problems
Hi all, I am trying to install C8 from a DVD I made onto a 1Tb disc partitioned into 2 ext4 partitions. The first partition contains C7 which I installed via a DVD. Trying to install C8 yields an error indicating the file /dev/root is missing. I've checked the SHA256 sum for the ISO for CentOS 8.1 1911 and it checks out fine. I've burned a couple of different DVDs and get the same

JRE 8.1 for CentOS6
> When I put in http it changes it back to https That's common now that everyone puts re-directs in to force everyone to use https. Can you get to the Apache logs on the remote machine? They may have more info. The error about Java 1.8 might be a red-herring. If the remote machine uses Perl on the backend, you might try setting the shell env variable OPENSSL_PREFIX to point on your

Perl script to locate F0 0F C7 C8 bombs
There is no known fix to the F0 0F C7 C8 bug at this time. What can be done, however, is run a program, such as the script after my signature, to locate any and all such programs. This script can be used in single user mode after a mysterious lockup on a multiuser Pentium system. I hope it is possible to come up with a software fix for this problem. - Sam "You can...turn sadness into

C8 and bacula messages
Hi list, I'm updating my backup server using C8 and bacula 9.0.6. I have problem when I run a full backup with a pool that has Maximum Volume Jobs = 1 as in the configuration used on C7. The problem is that I get this message: JobId 11: Max Volume jobs=1 exceeded. Marking Volume "Full-0009" as Used. multiple time inside bacula messages when backup is performing? Is this a bug

ZFS fails with latest C8 kernel
As if last weekend's UEFI debacle wasn't bad enough, it now seems the latest C8 kernel (4.18.0-193.14.2) is incompatible with the current ZFSOnLinux packages (0.8.4-1). When booted to the latest kernel, ZFS is inaccessible on my C8 storage server. When I back off to the prior kernel (4.18.0-193.6.3), all is well. If a local ZFS system is unavailable to the C8 kernel support folks,

C8 Questions
I'm really curious how you were able to virtualize CentOS 8. What platform are you using? Xen, KVM or VMWare? PV or HVM? I started a thread here and was referred to a project page for development. There was a thread on the forums for this which I replied to but it's been dead too so when I saw your opening sentence I'm really interested in, how'd you do it? Thank you, Steffan

C8 - KVM on bridge on VLAN on team issues.

What is aggravating, though, is virtually every howto on bridging out there refers to the deprecated brctl utility (from the bridge-utils package), and C8 no longer includes that package (even though

C8 Questions
I have all my issues posted on the forum - https://centos.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=71934 I'm using Xen and it seems to be an issue with pvgrub and grub2. No matter what I do, it always boots into the grubdom> prompt. I made the changes suggested in the thread but can't get past that. HVM is fine but slow. PV just won't work. C8 - KVM on bridge on VLAN on team issues.
Hi, the first thing that comes to mind, did you set ip_forward to enable in /etc/sysctl.conf ? net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1 Should explain why you IP on the bridge works but not on the vms. Compiling latest postfix fails on C8
Hi, I tried to compile the latest version of postfix, runs fine on C6 and C7, on C8 it fails. Complaining about missing ypclnt.h, this should com from glibc-headers. Any suggestions?
