VMware tools 1.0.10 on Centos 6?
I have an instance of VMware server 1.0.10 hosted on CentOS 5, and it
runs fine, with guests of CentOS 4, CentOS5 or Win2000.
I have just created a new VM and installed CentOS6 on it, which also runs
fine, except that I can't build the VMware tools on it. I get compilation
errors when compiling the kernel modules, due to changes in the definition
of struct net_device among other things.

Compile for C6 / glibc
In the hope that some skilled developers are here:
We have a commercial product that do not run under CentOS6
/lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.14' not found
Is it possible to compile software (compile switch?) on a system that
uses a newer glibc but in such a way that can be used (executed) on
a system with an older glibc (like here: compiled on glibc 2.14
based system but C6 is on

gpxelinux.0 and slow HTTP performance on VMware ESX
Hi,
I found this message in your online mail archive, i have found the same problem and did some research in the past on this. Maybe you would be interested to know it is a problem on any virtualisation product not just ESX. Second it is a problem in gPXE that you embedded in gPXElinux. The problem was build in gPXE after version 0.97 so any gPXElinux build a newer version has this problem. I

After 7.1 is released, I will try again to get permission to do this. I
am not giving up hope, just working with legal issues is quite a PITA.
But, I personally work try to move to EL7 for machines needing chrome,
as the one directly from google currently works.

Feedback and help in porting the NUT sysV init script to upstart
hi there,
first, kudos to Scott. You guy rock with this revolutionizing (and so logic)
idea ;-)
next, a personal point of view about the lack of upstream adoption of
upstart:
I wanted to provide an upstart script for NUT for some time, but never found
enough matching example to do so.
the embedded scripts only address inittab, and the replacement-initscripts
are unreachable (see below) and far

init/upstart issue? ypbind and autofs
One problem I have with custom CentOS 6 installation is that NIS auto.*
maps are not available. According to boot.log, ypbind starts before autofs,
but when I login to the machine, the maps are not available until I issue
a service autofs restart.
Any pointers on what to check?
