[PATCH] smbfs: smbfs do not honor uid, gid, file_mode and dir_mode supplied by user mount
Hi, This patch fixes "Samba Bugzilla Bug 999". The last version (2.6.8.1) of smbfs kernel module do not honor uid, gid, file_mode and dir_mode supplied by user during mount. This bug is also logged as "Kernel Bug Tracker Bug 3330". I think this stuff is related to the "unix extensions". This patch offers to the client side the opportunity to decide to use or

Is it possible to remotely save an R session then terminate R? Of course the destructive task after 'then' is rather straightforward by itself. Thanks

Union of two data frames
Hi, I have two data frames each with 5 columns and different number of rows. some of the row names in one data frame are the same as the row names in the other. I want to be able to merge the two data frames to get a new data frame in which the duplicated row names are only shown once with the data for the rest of the columns used from the first data frame. Essentially, I want to make a union

Connecting 1-2 GSM ports to asterisk?
Hi, List, I am looking for a cheapest (and therefore most funny) way to attach GSM card to my asterisk home box. Needed features: Calls+SMS in/out one or two SIM cards (ports) Should I try looking for a GSM PCI card that is compatible with linux/asterisk, or GSM USB card, or modern full-blown SIP GSM gateway (with ethernet)? Maybe an ordinary cell phone with USB interface and mangling with

signing modules
HI all- Thanks for the comments. However -I'm getting no where. Let me start again. My 'hardware" does not have the ability to turn off secure boot. Its an Intel NUC7C - not possible. SO instead of my generic "image" i have that I copy to physical disk (has all my install, setup etc... everything ready). I created a new UEFI disk that again has everything setup and ready.

MAC Address prefixes of Voip equipment
Is there a database of MAC address prefixes used the common VoIP devices. I see the Linksys Sipura devices state with 00:0E. Does the same apply to other Linksys VoIP equipment? Is there some way VoIP equipment allow themselves to be identified by requesting data from some ports?

Slow terminal response Centos 7.7 1908
Hey! I have a strange condition in one of the servers that I don't where to start looking. I login to the server via SSH (cant doit any other way) and anything that I type is slow HTTP sessions timeout waiting for screen redraw. So, the server is acting "slow". server is bare metal. no virtual services. no alarms in the disk raid note: server was restarted because of power failure.
