Subversion 1.8 / FreeBSD 8 x86 STABLE Symlinks
When using svn 1.8 I have come across a situation where when it is used pointing to a symlink that refers to a working directory that a update will either segfault or exit prematurely and leave a lock held on the working directory that the symlink points to. This leaves you with one choice but to run cleanup on the referenced actual working directory which was AFAIK never the case for any version

Centos 8: removing font rpms leaves directory and .uuid file behind
remove an unneeded font that was installed during the initial setup: dnf remove thai-scalable ls -a /usr/share/fonts/thai-scalable Not only did the directory survive the removal, but we still have a hidden file named .uuid in the directory (which is probably why it didn't get removed). The directory and .uuid file is an orphan though, since rpm --whatprovides tells me that no rpm owns it.

How to do leave-n-out cross validation in R?
Seems crossval from library(bootstrap) can only be used for leave-one-out and k-fold cross validation? Here is a dumb question, suppose n=80, how to do exactly leave-50-out cross validation? K-fold cross validation is not eligible for this case since n/ngroup is not an integer. Thanks!

ip phone suggestion for Asia?
Hi: i am surveying ip phones for our company. we will use them with asterisk. we have office in taiwan, hong kong, singapore and china. cisco and polycom are too expensive for us. we try several china brand ip phones. they are all cheap and some of them have good quality. but most of them won't offer future firmware support, which we think it's important for ip phones.

[nbdkit PATCH 2/2] ext2: Supply .list_exports and .default_export
When using ext2file=exportname to pick the file to server from the client's export name, we do not want to leak the underlying plugin's export list. While touching this, take advantage of string lifetimes via nbdkit_strdup_intern and similar for less cleanup bookkeeping. Note that we don't actually implement a full .list_exports; doing that with NBD_OPT_LIST is likely prohibitive

Leave One Out Cross Validation
Hi All, I have been trying to get this LOO-Cross Validation method to work on R for the past 3 weeks but have had no luck. I am hoping someone would kindly help me. Essentially I want to code the LOO-Cross Validation for the 'Local Constant' and 'Local Linear' constant estimators. I want to find optimal h, bandwidth. Thank you very much! -M -- View this message in context:
