Cockpit within httpd
Folks
I'd love to use Cockpit, but I cannot open port 9090 for the access
in all cases. I'd like to access it via my usual http port (such as
80) where I'm limited to a single HTTP port. I understand the
security implications, and can deal with them later.
My attempt was to allow the following URL to access the cockpit functionality:
http://xxx.example.com/cockpit

virt-viewer via ssh to a remote host
Hi,
I have a virtualization host running KVM and libvirt 0.9.12 (on Debian
unstable). I would like to connect with virt-viewer 0.5.4 from a
different host to a domain that has Display Spice configured as
graphics interface.
I can connect to the KVM host using
virsh --connect=qemu+ssh://mh at fan.local/system
and start m KVM domain from there, so I guess that authentication is
just fine.

Disabling TLS 1.1 in Centos 7 cockpit
Oops, excuse my typo
Create /etc/systemd/system/cockpit.service.d/ssl.conf containing
[Service]
Environment=G_TLS_GNUTLS_PRIORITY=NORMAL:-VERS-SSL3.0:-VERS-TLS1.0:-VERS-TLS1.1
Then
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl restart cockpit
To verify that TLS 1.1 is disabled,
echo test | openssl s_client -connect localhost:9090 -tls1_1 2>&1 | grep -e Protocol -e Cipher
The expected result is:

RDP for Centos 7
Hi,
Does anyone know of a good program for doing RDP to windows servers on C-7?
The "Remote desktop viewer" program that comes with C7 is not reliable for me.
I frequently have multiple long running RDP sessions and the keyboard
will stop responding. The only way I can find to get it started again is to
restart the program and login to the servers again.
In addition, I cannot find a

Disabling TLS 1.1 in Centos 7 cockpit
Hi, I'm using cockpit in standard port 9090 in a Centos 7 system.
Due to a suggestion from management, they want TLS 1.1 disabled
system-wide in all Linux boxes and TLS 1.2 enabled.
I have not found proper documentation on how to disable it for cockpit
(version 195.1 ships with Centos 7)
So far I have tried (https://cockpit-project.org/guide/149/https.html):

Dumb Centos 8 DNF mirror question...
I have several Centos 8 machines that I update and every now and again I
will go through and update all of them and one of them will get a slow
mirror, like downloading the kernel at 50kb etc. With the newer version I
am unable to figure out how to force it to update the mirror list and
hopefully change to a faster mirror. I have searched but must not be using
the right verbiage since I am unable

Trying to rebuild srpm from fedora....
So I am trying to rebuild this source rpm from fedora
10, shutter-0.85.1-1.fc10.src.rpm -its a screen capture application (
http://shutter-project.org/ ) that I have been unable to find in any repos,
although it is in the fedora repos. Thought I would give it a go and try to
rebuild the rpm, so here is the error that I am getting:
