CentOS 7, systemd, NetworkMangler, oh, my
My manager tells me a system in the datacenter is down. I go down there,
and plug in a monitor-on-a-stick and keyboard. It's up, but no network. I
try systemctl restart NetworkManager several times, and ip a shows *no*
change.
Finally, I do an ifdown, followed by an ifup, and everything's wonderful.
My manager thinks that the NM daemon thinks everything's fine, and

resolv.conf rewritten every reboot. How to figure out who and why?
My machine has a static IP, with dhcp and IPv6 disabled. Every time I
reboot, some process rewrites /etc/resolv.conf, including a comment
about dhcpclient. The only package I have installed that shows up in
"rpm -qa|grep -i dhcp" is dhcpv6-client-1.0.10-16.el5, and nothing in
there is named dhcpclient.
I'd like to figure out what software is rewriting this file and why.

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
Hi,
kickstarting fails due to problems with host resolution, even though the
network seems to be properly configured through DHCP. eno1 and eno2 are
both attached to the network, but only eno1 gets an IP via DHCP. Still
`curl` cannot resolve the mirror host and the kickstart host during

Wifi not working
Hello,
I have the AR9285 wireless adaptor on an HP DV6-2128ca notebook. I can
see it. it comes up in NetworkManager but never gets an IP. the router
is a linksys using WPA/PSK security. Would/could someone please help me
out trying to get this to work? Output of several commands follows:

Troubles with NetworkManager
NetworkManager used to work fine for me but during the last few
installations its a big hurdle in the wireless connectivity.
I'm using Madwifi and its interface is correctly listed and working but I
cannot connect to any wifi AP without NetworkManager. I've two interfaces:
eth0 and wifi0. Starting NetworkManager doesn't show any notification icon
in the top right in gnome and I believe

NetworkManager frustration...
I would like to use dnsmasq to cache nameserver query results, and I
have set dhcp to prepend the 127.0.0.1 name-server to the list of
nameservers. dnsmasq would then automatically exclude the localhost as a
name server and use all the others from the list provided by dhcp.
But it was too nice to be true, because NetworkManager was there, ready
to mess up anything I try to do, including the

CentOS 7, NetworkMangler, and ipv6
We've started having a problem with a CentOS 7 server. It looses its IPv6
address, if I understand this issue correctly. We can get in, if we do ssh
-4, though.
In the logs, I'm seeing this about twice an hour:
<warn> (pid 98466) unhandled DHCP event for interface ens3f0
Now, in googling, I get very few hits putting quotes around "unhanded dhcp
exception" - in fact, the

Centos7: Intel nuc/Linksys usb-ethernet
Hello All,
I'm installing some DIY routers, composed of Intel nuc's ,Linksys usb-ethernet adapters and Centos7
On most machines I just plug in the usb device, install Centos7 and everything works.
But on this one machine the network interface doesn't work.
After installing ip addr shows:

I think that would be dhcpcd, which is also used by NetworkManager.

IPv6 broken on Linode
https://forum.linode.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=14570&p=72785
I can not figure out what I need to do.
Apparently according to linode support, the VM is trying to grab an IPv6
address with some privacy stuff enabled by default causing it to not
grab the IPv6 address that is assigned to me.
Nothing I have tried seems to work, and it seems that Linode support are
far more familiar with
