There are four arrays RAID1 (software RAID) md124 - /boot/efi md125 - /boot md126 - /bd md127 - / I have configured booting from both drives, everything works fine if both drives are connected. But if I disable any drive from which RAID1 is built the system crashes, there is a partial boot and as a result the

Trust problems after upgrade from 3.5 to 3.6
Hello. My setup: _ one Samba 3.5 domain (XXXXXXXX), with a PDC and a BDC, both running FreeBSD; _ one AD domain (YYYYYYYY) running on two Windows 2003 DCs; _ bidirectional trust between the two domains. Everything used to work until I moved the PDC from Samba 3.5 (EOL'ed) to 3.6; now, users from domain YYYYYYYY cannot access the PDC's shares. I used to have in smb.conf: >

IMAP message ID bad for very old message
Hi, I just noticed that the ordering by message ID when accessing my email via IMAP is messed up. I'm looking in the INBOX that contains 11757 emails. For some reason a load of emails from 2009 and 2010 are being listed near the top, for example I have a message with ID 11441 from 2009 where it definitely shouldn't be, its all mixed in with emails from 2011 there. Error "Could not fetch trust account password" in Samba 3 Beta..what do I need to do?
Specifics samba-3.0.0beta1-1.i386.rpm on RedHat 9 and smbpasswd authentication, the machine is the PDC and security is set for user. The machine account was setup on the fly and it appears in passwd, shadow, and smbpasswd files as it should. However it seemed to take a very long time to join the domain, about 1-1/2 minutes. I can browse the Samba PDC machine and access the shares, etc. After

I received four emails like this, one for /dev/md0, one for /dev/md1, one for /dev/md125 and one for /dev/md126: Subject: DegradedArray

Mac OSX clients - slow display & copy times with image files
We've been having intermittent problems with our Mac OS clients and our file servers. We've had a few reports of 10.6.x clients opening folders (usually consisting of image files) and having the Finder hang for an extended period of time before it finishes displaying the files. Additionally, when trying to copy a number of image files into another folder, I have witnessed it hang for 10+

FC6 and winbind separator ignored?
I'm trying to join my FC6 box to our Active Directory domain. For the most part the setup was pretty straightforward, but it just doesn't seem like winbind separator is being honored. When I do a 'getent passwd' I get the following: AVWORLD\johnXXXX:*:16782801:16777216:XXXXXXXX:/home/AVWORLD/johnXXXX:/bin/bash

Classicupgrade failure
Hello. I've still got a couple of NT domains and I'd like to upgrade them to AD. In these days I had a chance to try to migrate one of them, but I ran into troubles and had to go back. I don't know when I'll have the chance to try again (probably not before some months), but I need to understand what went wrong before that. The starting situation: Samba 4.8 running as AD
