CentOs 7 i386 & PAE Kernel
Hi Gurus, I've been playing with CentOS 7's AltArch i386 builds with some good results on one machine, but can't get it to boot properly on another with a newer Bay Trail CPU. Previously CentOS 6 i386 worked on both, and that set a legacy I'd like to recreate... I *think* the problem is that the 7 kernel is non-PAE, and that has some peculiar knock on effect that prevents some

PI3
Hi All, I downloaded: http://mirror.centos.org/altarch/7/isos/armhfp/ for the PI3 This article says the PI3 runs X. http://news.softpedia.com/news/centos-7-linux-officially-released-for-raspberry-pi-2-banana-pi-and-cubietruck-497891.shtml When I groupinstall Gnome desktop and reboot, then run startx I get an error about no screens found. Whats the trick to get X on the PI3? Thanks, Jerry

CentOS 7 - AltArch i386 - DVD iso?
Just curious. In the two most recent releases of CentOS 7 AltArch i386 there has not been made available a DVD iso (or the live ones) alongside NetInstall/Minimal/Everything. Any plans to make available the DVD variation for the current or future releases? For older 32-bit hardware, it can be nice to be able to burn a single layer DVD. Thanks for your time, -Brendan

test builds on private server updates (kernel)
Hello Everyone, Because my tests on AMD and Intel, I had to update the linux firmware. Update comes from the upstream fedora packet and also works on centos with new kernel. linux-firmware-20170605-74.git37857004.el7.centos.noarch Sincerely Andy

7.2 kernel panic on boot
Always Learning wrote: > I always admire Johnny's prose, passion for Centos and his calm approach > to everything. Agreed. But two possibly OT and probably ignorant queries: 1. I am running a standard Centos 32-bit system on my home servers. I keep them up-to-date, but have not re-booted for several months. I see from /etc/centos-release that I am running 7.1. If I re-booted would

test builds on private server updates (kernel)
Hallo Hughes, thanks to let me know. It is good that you have a focus on LTS 4.9. Unfortunately it is so that the new graphics cards from amd to today are not served in the opensource. That's why I'm experimenting with the latest stable versions and what is so. My laptop has done the linux-firmware update well, it is nevertheless one of the newest. The kernel and appropriate

RasPi 3.x and RH-based Distro (Slightly OT)
With the release of the Rasberry Pi 3.x, I think we have a platform I could jump on board with. Performance has just been lacking until now! But I really don't want to jump the "RH ship" - I'd rather stick with an environment I am comfortable in. Can anybody comment here on the best way to run RHEL/Fedora/CentOS on a RasPi, or if there's even a useful port? Thanks
