I've taken you as far as I can go. ?Now you will have to experiment a bit for your use case. ?I should point out that at least in my system, the link with the serial number in it shows up even with the line commented in the rules file. yum update was run 23.10.19 and then 05.11.19 to the beginning of the update 5.11.2019 kernel logging to /var/log/messages was ok. Helo, update is in EPEL repository. on startup, clamd does not further create clamd.sock and clamd.pid clamd service stops without any message - even in debug mode. It's a nightmare. The mtx binary requires my tape library to be assigned a sg# driver, but the kernel periodically renumbers the sg devices. Normally, we would write a udev rule to manually assign a persistent name, but it looks like things have changed as I can't seem to get a match on CEntOS7. I'd appreciate any feedback or pointers to help me get my rule working. My two attempts are below. cat

Has anyone actually got CLAMD and EXIM working? I've just had a go on a new VPS server without success. The only thing that happened was that my server slowed because clamd was hogging CPU.
