Support for transparency in metafile export & support for export to Powerpoint
Dear all,
Further to my previous message I now made a one-line convencience function to export your currently active graphics window/plot to either Word or Powerpoint in Office-native vector-based DrawingML format using either
export2ppt(file="plot.pptx")
or
export2doc(file="plot.docx") :

Tried help from the popup print, and searching, I see that the options

C8 install libreoffice
How do you install libreoffice. yum install libreoffice did not do it,
doing a search on "centos 8 install libreoffice" did not provide anything.
Thanks

LibreOffice locking up
I am running LibreOffice 5.3.6.1 under the latest update of CentOS 7 and the Mate desktop. Not infrequently LibreOffice Calc locks up and I have to force close the application. Altough the spreadsheet is rather large I would not consider it complex.
This has been going on for some time and I am curious if the bug might be in LibreOffice or if there is some interaction with the Mate desktop that

Libreoffice on 7.6
When I try to run libreoffice on CentOS 7.6 for a slide show (using my
macro that I have always used since CentOS 6.0) I get a runtime error that
"Presentation is not found". I updated then to the current download 6.1.2
and tried again - I get the same error.
If I go back to a 7.5 machine - same macro - it works just fine. This
happens on any of my CentOS 7.6 machines.
Any idea why

libreoffice 5 slow after 7.3 update
Hello all,
After the update to 7.3 libreoffice (5.0.6.2-3.el7.x86_64) became
unusable slow.
For an excel file with 250 rows even a simple scroll takes a few
seconds, during that time the Xorg server is 100% working and the GPU
utilization is at about 77% (from NVIDIA server settings).
I have tried disabling the hardware acceleration (options->view) and
OpenCL (options) but the problem and

gallium state tracker calls calloc for 0 sizes arrays ?
Hi All,
While debugging: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1008089
I made a apitrace recording of the a single slide transition
animation, and since I suspected memory corruption replayed
it using ElectrFence + glretrace, this finds a 0 sized array
allocation at src/mesa/state_tracker/st_glsl_to_tgsi.cpp: 5565:

Hi,
I'm trying to write the PowerPoint2007 filter in the same manner that I

Populating values in a PowerPoint table
Dear R-help,
I managed (thanks to the R2PPT package) to create a PowerPoint
presentation and create a table in it but for the life of me I can't
find a way to populate the table with values and text. I'm aware of
the function 'PPT.AddDataFrame' which creates an Excel object from a
data frame, but the excel object is not nearly as nice looking and
easy to manipulate (and apply

PPT text extracter
Hi,
I've had a heads up from a user that catppt did not work at all on
semi-recent PowerPoint files (ppt, not pptx). I checked, and indeed it
misses most of the content on many files.
After looking around, I found Python code from the libreoffice project
which makes a nice ppt text extractor after adding a very thin command line
wrapper:

Difficulties in interaction between R and latex (prosper)
Hello, folks! I'm trying to use R as a graphics program, to make some
pretty graphs that will go into prosper slideshows.
I wrote this fragment, from the R manual, into a file demo.R:

horizontal = FALSE, onefile = FALSE, paper = "special",
