Thanks on 6.5
Hey, Johnny et al,
Thanks for the hard work, and quick followup to upstream. What's
especially nice for us, and for other folks using CentOS at US federal
gov't agencies, is that finally, the stock ssh-agent works seamlessly
with pkcs11 and PIV/CAC cards, which is being required across the
board. We'd been building our own openssh pieces... (and it was my

OT hardware question
With the continuing annoyance from motion, my manager's asked me to go
looking again for a video surveillance appliance: basically, a
motion-detecting DVR and cameras. The big thing, of course, is a) price
(this is a US federal gov't agency, and being civilian, money is *tight*,
don't give me the libertarian/GOP line about how freely we spend,
thankyouverymuch), b) it has to be on the

OT: UPS battery vendor
Hi, folks.
I need some new replacement batteries for rack-mount APC UPSes. My old
vender... well, the salesman I dealt with for several years left about a
year and a half ago, and last year's purchase was a disaster (wrong
batteries, wrong batteries, months to get the shipping to return the wrong
batteries...), so I'm looking for a new, reliable vendor who does US
government contract

apcupsd
Anyone else around using apcupsd? I seem to be seeing a problem, and I'd
like someone to check me on it: I edit /etc/apcupsd/apccontrol to replace
the value of SHUTDOWN from /sbin/shutdown to /bin/false (we don't want 3
or 6 servers shutting down over a 2 second or so blip, which it really
wants to do).
What's happened is that a machine shut down the other day, and looking at
it, I

System Start-Up Issue
We run several Intel-based CentOS machines.? They are all at 6.9 or 7.x.
One of each OS is Oracle VirtualBox hosted on an up to date Windows 7 system.
We use these virtual machines for checkout of new applications before they
are loaded on native CentOS platforms.? Regular weekly updates are run on
all of our CentOS machines.
I went on vacation right after an update to one of our virtual CentOS

mirrors down?
Just went to update a couple systems this morning, and first one machine
took nearly 15 min to find the mirrors (and it should be getting it all
from our own repo, actually), and then the next one showed about 8-10
mirrors down, including Harvard and VCU. Anyone know what's going on?
