Mate on Centos 7
I have been running Mate on Centos 7 for some time but it does not work very well on my HiDPI laptop screen. Today I found that I am running version 1.16 of Mate whereas the current version is 1.22. Undoubtedly many of the issues have been fixed since 1.16 was released in 2016...
However, EPEL only provides 1.16 - a release from 2016 - and nothing later.
What is the recommended way to upgrade to

What happens if he sets up a new user? Does the desktop work then?

Can we uninstall 2020 and install it again? This one has a virus.

MATE 1.20 test build for CentOS 7 available
Hi everyone,
There's been discussions in the past about updating MATE RPMs in EPEL-7:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1436260
https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos/2019-August/173154.html
(and lots of others...)
As a proof-of-concept, I've written some scripts that clone specific
commits from the Fedora master branches, and then runs a tool to
re-apply RPM scriptlets

With the new initiative CentOS and Fedora Stream, wouldn't it be easier
collaborate with Fedora SIGs to bring an updated version of Mate to

Ailing MATE desktop
I need some C8 troubleshooting help with MATE.
I'm building a ZFS storage server with a SuperMicro H11SSL motherboard,
EPYC 7232 CPU, and 32 GB ECC SDRAM. I installed CentOS 8.1.1911 from
the iso as soon as it was released. I'm using the on-board ASPEED VGA
video. I installed MATE v1.22 from
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/stenstorp/MATE/. The following
packages are installed:

KeePassX replacement
I have been using the KeePassX password manager on CentOS 6 and 7 for some time and it works pretty well. On my Windows machine I use KeePass which offers a number of features missing from KeePassX, I also sync the database between several machines, including Android units where I use keepass2android. Database compatibility is thus required.
KeePassX, however, does not seem to be maintained any

Glances for CentOS 8?
It seems that glances is not in EPEL for CentOS 8. Is that coming at some
point, or has it been deprecated in favor of some other tool?
