I installed my first UEFI disk yesterday. Seemed to go fine. CentOS 7.6 x86_64 I then took that disk "out" of that machine and put it another machine - it seems to not even boot. I put the original disk back in that machine and it boots fine. I put the UEFI disk back in the machine I built it on and it works fine. They are similar machines either and i3 and i7. Shouldn't that work?

I was doing an update to 7.4 and somewhere in middle the machine died. If I drop back to a previous kernel the machine is alive. So how do I say "forget the previous yum update" and start all over and do it again. Booting into the new kernel I get a kernel fault. So going back one level on teh boot screen solves that - I just need to start the update again. How is that? Thanks, Jerry

Hi all, I have a 3G AM2 quad core CPU... x86_64 centos 5.3 When I am doing backing up to my external USB drive my system becomes sluggish. Clicking on a thunderbird compose takes some time to pop up the window. Typeing doesnt keep up etc... Is there something I can change so this backup doesnt slow my system down so much? Hello is the webkit with CentOS 7.4 compiled with ENABLE_MEDIASOURCE ? When I call the set_media_source function with TRUE and then ask get_media_source function for the value it returns TRUE. Hi, I have a JIT compiler using the legacy JIT on LLVM 3.5 that, when run on the Xeon v5 Skylakes produces "Cannot select: intrinsic %llvm.x86.sse41.round.sd". Note, this does not occur on i7 Kabylakes. To get this far I had to disable AVX512 code gen. Upgrading the system I am looking at from 3.5 to a later version is a big job that I'd prefer not to have on my critical path.

When I VNC into 7.4 everything is fine until I run vmplayer (VMware). The vmplayer runs but when I type on the console for vmplayer which is also running a centos image I get multiple key presses - sometimes. Its not everytime - but enough to be annoying. How do I take care of that ? Jerry
