yum repo issue
hi johnny, >> anyone any hints how to debug this or some clues what could be going >> wrong here. > > Do you have an exclude in /etc/yum.conf for ibutils-libs? how embarassing. there was indeed an exclude on ibutils-libs. (this must be some leftover from using mlnx ofed. we are switching from c73+mlnx ofed 3.4 to c74 stock ib (there's no mlnxofed3.4 for c74, and our old

yum repo issue
hi all, in case someone else runs into it, it is the opfed-scripts rpm that has a postinstall and postuninstall script that changes the yum.conf (bad, mellanox, bad) for a pure/regular uninstall it works fine, but to swap ibutils from mlnxofed to ib stack from os, yum obviously doesn't know that the exclude will be removed. i've seen worse in vendor-provided rpms, but i guess it caught

odd dependency
I'm putting the finishing touches on a new server, which will be replacing an old one. It's got a non-rpm ruby package (I hear lots of not-nice things about the RH package). The new server had ruby installed, so I went to yum remove it. And it removed ibutils as a dependency of ruby or ruby-libs. rpm -qi of ibutils tells me Summary : OpenIB Mellanox InfiniBand Diagnostic Tools

problem with installing lustre and ofed
Hello, I am having trouble installing the server modules for lustre 2.1.4 and use mellanox''s OFED distribution so we may use infiniband. Would you folks look at my procedure and results below and let me know what you think? Thanks very much! The mellanox ofed installation builds and installs some kernel modules too, so I used this method to ensure OFED compiled against the correct

rsync still hangs on cygwin 1.5.6-1 and 1.5.7
Hi, Rsync is still hanging under cygwin for me. I'm using rsync 2.6.0 and i've tried cygwin-1.5.6-1 as well as a snapshot of 1.5.7. I've noticed that some people are having success. I shouldn't have to do anything interesting in order to make this work, right? *********************************************************************** This message is intended only for the use of

EFI Clients Unable to Load kernel/initrd Not Stored on PXE Server
Issue Statement: PXE booting from BIOS systems works fine on both 6.03 and 6.04-pre1. New clients only support (u)EFI which results in the inability to load remote kernel or initrd. Tested with both Syslinux 6.03 and 6.04-pre1. So far unable to boot any (u)EFI clients unless both initrd and kernel are on PXE server. Using packet captures I see that the URI request for the remote file on the repo

Mellanox SR-IOV IB PCI passthrough in Xen - MSI-X pciback issue
Greetings Xen user community, I am interested in using Mellanox ConnectX cards with SR-IOV capabilities to passthrough pci-e Virtual Functions (VFs) to Xen guests. The hope is to allow for the use of InfiniBand directly within virtual machines and thereby enable a plethora of high performance computing applications that already leverage InfiniBand interconnects. However, I have run into some

R doesn't recognize utils functions, such as arrayIndex( )
Hi all, When I called arrayIndex(20:23, dim=c(4,3,3)), it says "Error: could not find function "arrayIndex"in R". So I called ls("package:utils") to see the functions inside: [1] "?" [2] "adist" [3] "alarm" [4] "apropos" [5] "aregexec" [6] "argsAnywhere" [7] "arrangeWindows" [8]

kmod c74 broken: howto report it
hi all, latest kmod update 20-15.el7_4.6 is broken on our systems, while previous 20-15.el7_4.4 was working fine (and downgrading fixes the issue). the issue is with modules from mellanox kmod rpms that are symlinked in the weak-updates dir. the config files in /etc/depmod.d look ok (and do work with previous version): dist.conf has weak-updates after built-in, and mellanox kmod rpms ship a

"net lookup sid" fails to get user's domain
When I run the following "net lookup sid" command, I get: # net lookup sid S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220 S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220 1 (User) \fhess This is wrong in that "\fhess" should be "NIST\fhess". The other direction works fine: # net lookup name "NIST\fhess" S-1-5-21-1908027396-2059629336-315576832-12220 1
