mounted.ocfs2 -f return Unknown: Bad magic number in inode
Hello,
I have installed ocfs2 without problem and use it for a RAC10gR2.
Only Clusterware files are ocfs2 type.
multipath is also used.
When I issue : mounted.ocfs2 -f
I have a strange result:
Device FS Nodes
/dev/sda ocfs2 Unknown: Bad magic number in inode
/dev/sda1 ocfs2 pocrhel2, pocrhel1
/dev/sdb ocfs2 Not mounted

device-mapper multipath
I am attempting to get multipath working with device-mapper (CentOS
4.2 and 4.3). It works on EVERY install of mine from RH (also v4.2,
4.3), but the same multipath.conf imported to all my installs of
CentOS do not work. Note that I have tested a working 4.2
configuration file from RH on CentOS 4.2 and a working 4.3
configuration (it changed slightly) on CentOS 4.3. Neither worked. Our

multipath using defaults rather than multipath.conf contents for some devices (?) - why ?
hi all
We have a rh linux server connected to two HP SAN controllers, one an HSV200 (on the way out),
the other an HSV400 (on the way in). (Via a Qlogic HBA).
/etc/multipath.conf contains this :

RAID storage - SATA, SCSI, or Fibre Channel?
I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 and am looking to add more storage. I know a lot
of factors can go into the type of answer given, but for present and future
technology planning, should I look for a rack of SATA, SCSI, or fibre channel
drives? Maybe I'm dating myself with fibre channel, and possibly SCSI?
I may be looking to add a few TB now, and possibly more later.

XEN HVMs on LVM over iSCSI - test results, (crashes) and questions
Hi all,
some results from my configuration.
I''ve this configuration (I''m not interested in raw top performances but
in reliability.. so, I can accept slow MB/sec and prefer to rely on a
RAID6, for example):

- 1GB DDR cache
- RAID6
- 7 x 500GB sataII Seagate ST3500630NS with 16mb (no budget for SAS)

Multipathing with Sun 7310
Dear list,
we have a relatively new Sun Storage 7310, where we connect CentOS 5.5
Servers (IBM LS21/LS41 Blades) via Brocade Switches, 4GBit FC. The Blades
boot from SAN via qla2xxx, and have no harddisks at all. We want them to
use multipathing from the very beginning, so /boot and / are already seen
by multipathd. Problem is, that the Sun 7310 has two storage heads which

LVM related bug in the GPL PV drivers for Windows?
Dear Xen users!
In case you were struggling with recent version of th gplpv drivers,
I''ve possibly found an LVM related bug in it, and reported to James
Harper. Thats''s the point:
I''ve tested the mentioned version of your driver on top of 32bit
xen-3.2.1 32bit xen-3.3.0 and 64bit xen xen-3.3.0 hypervisors, dom0 was
always an appropriate version of a 32bit PAE kernel,

IBM Storwize V3700 storage - device names
Hello,
I have IBM Storwize V3700 storage, connected to 2 IBM x3550 M4 servers
via fiber channel. The servers are with QLogic ISP2532-based 8Gb Fibre
Channel to
PCI Express HBA cards and run Centos 5.10
When I export a volume to the servers, each of them sees the volume
twice, i.e /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc, with the same size.
Previously I have installed many systems with IBM DS3500 series of

mdraid on top of mdraid
Is it possible or will there be any problems with using mdraid on top of mdraid?
specifically say
mdraid 1/5 on top of mdraid multipath.
e.g. 4 storage machines exporting iSCSI targets via two different
physical network switches
then use multipath to create md block devices
then use mdraid on these md block devices
The purpose being the storage array surviving a physical network switch

ProxyJump does not accept IPv6 for the intermediate host?
Hello,
it seems I cannot use:
$ ssh -J root at 2a01:4f8:1c1e:528d::1 root at west-coast
Invalid -J argument
(The west-coast is stored on the jump host in between in /etc/hosts.)
$ ssh -J root at 167.235.141.44 root at west-coast
Works as expected. Also
$ ssh root at 2a01:4f8:1c1e:528d::1
does work as expected. I do have native IPv6.
This is on Debian 12 Bookworm:
$ ssh -V

Kickstart mdraid on two disks, from usb key detected as sda instead of sdc...
Hi,
I am trying to adapt my kickstart usb key to optionally auto-setup mdraid on
two disks...? But I have one server that keeps attaching the usb key to sda
instead of sdc...
My kickstart creates the raid devices on sdb and sdc partitions; but then I
expect it not to work once the key is unplugged and the disks fall back to
sda and sdb...
Can I just modify mdadm.conf at the end, just

fsck mdraid root partition
There are some errors on my root filesystem, so I need to fsck it. In
order to do this while the filesystem is unmounted, I'm booting from the
install disk. However, since the filesystem is on an mdraid device, I'm
not sure of the right way to get it assembled so I can check it.
If I do, mdadm --examine --scan, then I get this:
ARRAY /dev/md/2 metadata=...

Not getting bootloader installed with CentOS 8 + mdraid
I am trying to use a kickstart to install CentOS 8.2 on a server with a
pair of drives with Linux software RAID 1. The install completes, but
the resulting system will not boot - I get "Booting from Hard drive C:"
from the BIOS (Dell in legacy BIOS mode, not UEFI) and it stops. If I
then start the installer in rescue mode and run grub2-install on the two
drives, it boots okay.

Use metadata version 1.2 instead of 0.9.
You need for the filesystem to be not visible until after the RAID is
assembled, and the easiest way to do that is to put the metadata at the
beginning of the drive and the partition table inside the RAID volume.
With metadata version 0.9, the partition
