New mailserver problems
Well, in part we will see if you get this and I get the return.
I JUST launched my new mail server after a few miscues. Actually the OS
is Redsleeve6, which is the arm port of Centos 6, and perhaps some of my
problems may come down to porting problems. But first, it may be that
despite my testing, I missed something in the configurations.
First clamd problems:

pid location from clamav on Centos 6.3
I was getting nowhere with my clamav permissions problem, so I blew away
my test system and did a total rebuild. I am now up to the part right
after the install of amavis-new, clamav, clamav-devel, and clamd all
from the epel.repo (spamassassin, also installed at the same time comes
from the base repo).
Prior to this, I rebuild the system from my kickstart file, and did the

Problems with my simple write conf files method
I have never used this method per se, but in general in any script if you want to preserve the $ (dollar sign) or variable name you must use a backslash to preserve it. For example change your $CONF to \$CONF.? The $CONF should then be printed into your conf file.

Problems with my simple write conf files method
I have been creating conf files and similar with the following method
that I picked up (I think from psotfix docs):
cat <<EOF>>/etc/aliases || exit 1
root: youremail
EOF
See: http://medon.htt-consult.com/Centos7-armv7.html
But with postfixadmin I stumbled onto a problem. The following:
cat <<EOF>/usr/share/postfixadmin/config.local.php || exit 1

Centos 7 with Postfixadmin, what provides php5-mysql
I am building a Centos7 mailserver to replace my Centos6 server.
This means moving to Apache 2.4 and MariaDB, so I am finding a number of
changes from my notes.
I now have MariaDB running with the databases created and Apache
running. I try accessing postfixadmin and get:
DEBUG INFORMATION:
MySQL 4.1 functions not available! (php5-mysqli installed?)

Postfix mail server procedure
CentOS Community,
I was wondering if anyone had a good resource or procedure for a step by
step in installing a mail server with Centos. There ARE documents on
google, however almost all that i've found were outdated from 2005. Does
anyone know where I can find this type of document for a mailserver
Postfix + MySQL + SpamAssassin + ClamAV + Squirrelmail + Postfixadmin, etc?

More on amavis/clam permission errors on Centos 6.3
I should probably find either the amavis or clam list(s) and take this
there?
Anyway, I have totally rebuilt my machine with clean installs. I have
spent time carefully (I hope!) studying the amavis and clamav conf files
before starting them and running the tests. Here is what I am getting:

There are plenty of guides available. I don't know your mother tongue,
but seeing your last name, I assume you may be speaking German.

mail server best practices question
Hello all,
About a year ago I set up a mail server on CentOS using this howto:
http://wanderingbarque.com/howtos/mailserver/mailserver.html
I managed to add amavisd-new with clamav and spamassassin.
It runs very well, but it runs on CentOS 5.2, and if I try to upgrade,
amavisd-new and clamav break.
we are now also at the point where a backup mx will need to be implemented.
If necessary I am

Amavisd and ClamAV
Hi,
I want to move my mail server from sendmail to postfix over christmas. I've
got a test server running with the following:
postfix dovecot postgrey amavisd-new clamav spamassassin
I've followed the howto's on the wiki <http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos> with the
exception that I installed amavisd-new and clamav from the EPEL repo rather
than rpmforge.
Things work OK with

clamd@amavisd fails under systemd
Trying to set up a mail server under CentOS7 - having done this with
CentOS5 and CentOS6 over the last decade with no issues and reliable
service, it was time to upgrade (?) to CentOS7. Shouldn't be a problem,
right?
Getting to grips with systemd has been challenging - to say the least.
So a brief overview of what I am trying to set up:
postfix / amavisd-new / spamassassin / clamav so we
