SNMPv3
nut-2.6.5
Scientific Linux 6.3
APC AP9630 management card
My basic question is, does nut's SNMPv3 implementation work?
I have this in /etc/ups/ups.conf
......
[tfapc01]
	driver = snmp-ups
	port = tfapc01.testfest.ixorg.org
	mibs = apcc
	snmp_version = v3

	secName = tfsnmpprof1
	authPassword = ralow6moHet7zoboP8

Graphing System Load MRTG
I check system load like so:
[root at server cron.daily]# w
 10:07:33 up 4 days, 15:01,  2 users,  load average: 4.22, 3.17, 3.09
I would like to to graph the 3.17 5 minute average with MRTG. Anyone
know of some examples of doing this?

INQUIRY, was: RE: smbpasswd not finding smbpasswd file
I have difficulties.
I'm running samba-2.1-19991203.tar.gz, and get the following error:
Domain password server not available.
Can't setup password database vectors.
Sander -- thanks. This is an excellent troubleshooting move. Once we can
find people who do and don't have problems, we can exploit the differences.
Thanks

dd iso to flash drive
Booting from the USB requires that there is a syslinux directory to boot
off of. In EL6, there is only isolinux, which is what booting from a DVD
uses. You should be able to copy isolinux to syslinux, rename the files
from s/iso/sys/ and then update syslinux.cfg to point to the USB drive
to boot from. Here's an example from my setup:
====
LABEL next
        MENU LABEL ^A) Boot the next device

dd iso to flash drive
I?ve been trying to get the dd of an iso to a usb flash drive to work for CentOS 6.7. It is working with the CentOS 7 DVD1 iso (x64), but if I use the same process with 6.7 bin dvd1 iso or the 6.7 live dvd, the flash drive will not boot. I thought 6.x and forward could be done like this.

ups.status don't switch to "OB LB"
Hello,
I have a Legrand Keor T [1] monitored via snmp, everything seems to work fine, upsc output looks good [2] except that I can?t get the low battery state "OB LB? as usual (it works fine with others UPS like APC or Dell). Here is the configuration :
[lgups]
        driver = snmp-ups
        port = 192.168.99.60
        community = public
        snmp_version = v2c
        mibs = auto

Manipulation of longitudinal data by row
I have a dataset of the form below, consisting of one unique ID per
row, followed by a series of visit dates. At each visit there are
values for 3 dichotomous variables. Of the 8 different possible
combinations of the three variables, 4 are "abnormal" and the
remaining 4 are "normal". Everyone starts out abnormal, and then
either continues to be abnormal at subsequent visits,

Network communication between hosts
Hi,
 I need advice about developing C++ program. I need to develop 2 application which must communicate via network using SSL encryption. The problem is in which format to exchange the data. I can use XML format to exchange data between the hosts but a lot traffic will be generated. What are the usual practices to exchange data between the hosts?

68HC11 under wine
Hi!
I am newbie at wine and I have one problem. After a successful installation of
wine I tried to run some programs - some of them worked properly, but one
(the one I need it the most) does not work.
This program is a simulator of motorola's 68HC11 assembler. When I try to run
it, I get an error:
simko@Simkobook:~/c/programs/68hc11/asm11$ wine ASM11.EXE
