MANOVA polynomial contrasts
Dear all,
I am quite new to R and I am having trouble writing the polynomial
contrasts for an ordinal factor in MANOVA.
# I have a model such as this
fit<-manova(cbind(Y1,Y2,Y3)~Groups,data=Events) # where groups is an
ordinal factor with 4 levels
# how to set polynomial contrasts for the "Groups" factor ?
Thank you very much in advance for any help!
Best regards,
Mauro

Equivalent RHEL package for CentOS httpd package?
I'm trying to find out if a particular RedHat patch has been ported to
CentOS yet.
In particular, this vulnerability: CVE-2011-3607
According to this: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2012-0323.html it
has been patched as of httpd-2.2.3-63.el5_8.1.x86_64.rpm
Now, in the latest CentOS repository, I find
httpd-2.2.3-63.el5.centos.1.x86_64.rpm
Is this the same (or later) release? I suspect

Special metaformat for ogg-files with multiple tracks
This is just an idea and the subject basically says it all: What if there
would be some special ogg meta- (or archive-) format that allowed a single
file to contain multiple, independently playable tracks.
In it's simplest form this file would probably just be a concatenated
version of individual ogg files with some header saying where a certain
track ends and the next one starts.

LDAP Domain Trust
I have a small problem. I'm an LDAP newbie, and am having trouble getting
Samba to authenticate. What I have is an LDAP tree, with the samba.schema
loaded in out LDAP configuration. I already tested smb.conf without
ldap-sam compiled in, and it authenticates just fine to smbpasswd and
locally added machine trust accounts.
Submitted for your assistance:

passing character vectors to FORTRAN
Hi,
I've been trying to pass a character vector from R to a FORTRAN subroutine. There have been several posts discussing this issue (e.g. http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/98a/0547.html, http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/05/10/13558.html, http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/01a/2577.html, http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/01c/1795.html,

From the Agile book, page 144 regarding a div tag helper
Hi. in the Rails Agile book here''s what was happening:
>>>
module StoreHelper
def hidden_div_if(condition, attributes = {})
if condition
attributes["style" ] = "display: none"
end
attrs = tag_options(attributes.stringify_keys)
"<div #{attrs}>"
end
# format_price method ...
end
Note that we cheated slightly here. We copied code from the Rails

Re: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 18, Issue 144
I use dbget to set callerid, but it's based on account code, and set
statically with the station, not the agent. Users can set callerid by
dialing a function coded in the dialplan for that purpose. Overhead is
not a problem.
In your case, perhaps you can set the desired callerid into a channel
variable using the "inheritance" syntax (double underscore) prior to the
queue()

glm throws erroneous(?)'names attribute must be the same length as the vector' (PR#144)
Full_Name: Barnet Wagman
Version: 63.2
OS: Linux
Submission from: (NULL) (207.229.172.168)
After a number of interations, glm(family=binomial) throws an error
'Error: names attribute must be the same length as the vector'
The same model works in lm() with the same data frame, so presumably it is not
misspecified.
In the iterations prior to the error, glm() generates the warnings
