VDPAU issues in 17.2 and master, and a test request
Hi guys, I just wanted to record some of my observations with nouveau; I haven't had time to debug what happened. All testing done with mplayer -vo vdpau. First off, it seems like master + DRI3 works, up to a point, but then crashes in nouveau pushbuf logic with a missing kref (which means some unknown buffer is being used ... somewhere). Now, in 17.2-rcN (sorry, I forget which one, but

flac/sox/etc with mp3 support?
I need to convert a bunch of .flac files to .mp3 files, but the sox and flac command tools thats in the base repo won't do that. EPEL doesn't seem to have much either. I went looking at ATRPMS but am getting database errors from their home page :( I know rpmforge used to have this stuff, but its virtually unmaintained today so I've written it off. any suggestions? Hi all! I'm trying to finish setting up my newly upgraded C7 system. It's on the same hardware I ran C6 on for several years. on C6 I had no trouble playing DVDs (after installing tons of packages and libdvdcss). Well, on C7, I've got totem (videos) and all its plugins I can find via yum, VLC (from nux) all the gstreamer and gstreamer1 packages I can find, everything with

FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 / BIG Theora testing / BUG in players or Lib
I tested the new FFMPEG2THEORA 0.26 and some players. 1. Biggest bug: http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/temp/push5tru.zi7 encodes into http://freefile.kristopherw.us/uploads/temp/push5tru.ogv the problem: it doesn't play well. MPLAYER reacts very badly, reports "invalid frames" and HANGS (known issue ???). But in VLC there is also a problem, less severe:

We recently installed CentOS 7 from DVD.? Our install selection was the GNOME desktop option. yum update yielded about 465 megabytes of updates all of which were successful with no warnings.? The multi media option was not chosen because KDE was listed. GNOME was not apparent in the software list for the multi media workstation install. Google searches led us to instructions for installing
