Seagate's firmware flash until in Centos 7.x - does it work?
hi fellas
I wonder if any of you use(d) dl_sea_fw to flash SAS drive?
I try dl_sea_fw-0.2.3_64 to flash ST32000444SS but it fails:
$ ./linux\ cli\ tools/dl_sea_fw-0.2.3_64 -m ST32000444SS -f
firmware/MU-SAS-0008.LOD -d /dev/sg59

Added DHCPINFO Tables to the lua.c32 Implementation - syslinux-4.04
Greetings All.
We wanted to be able to parse the DHCP values and options and write a lua
script based on the information found. We are also using the CPU flags, but
thankfully in at least version 4.04 there is already some CPU value parsing
even if it isn't documented. Using the information from the CPU table we
wanted to be able to choose the kernel to boot. Using the DHCP table

Seagate - experience/opinion on vendor?
hi guys
I have rather a large set of Seagate's SAS ST32000444SS, over a hundred
- experience I'm having from those in conjunction with their tech
support is abysmal.
I'm trying to update firmware of these drives and nothing works,
including tech support.
... and I cannot help but wonder - is just me who is so unlucky and
getting very, very poor support(taking naturally only of

Seagate - experience/opinion on vendor?
If ti makes you feel any better, I am not having stellar service from
WD's support. In fact, they act like they never received the HD I sent
for RMA whose tracking number says they did 10 days ago.

Mailboxes not showing up in MS Outlook

I am not sure exactly where the problem is here. I am using a sieve script
that sorts various incoming messages into their own mailbox. MS Outlook does
not show those folders if they are not directly under INBOX.

Question re: CentOS-6.0, KVM, and /dev/sr0
I am experimenting with KVM and I wish to create a virtual machine
image in a logical volume. I can create the new lv without problem
but when I go to format its file system then I get these warnings:
Warning: WARNING: the kernel failed to re-read the partition table
on /dev/sda (Device or resource busy). As a result, it may not
reflect all of your changes until after reboot.

Slow RAID resync
OK todays problem.
I have a HP N54L Microserver running centos 6.5.
In this box I have a 3x2TB disk raid 5 array, which I am in the
process of extending to a 4x2TB raid 5 array.
I've added the new disk --> mdadm --add /dev/md0 /dev/sdb
And grown the array --> mdadm --grow /dev/md0 --raid-devices=4
Now the problem the resync speed is v slow, it refuses to rise above
5MB, in general

Autodetecing RAID members upon boot... need to update initrd?
Hello fellow CentOS'ers-
I've got a system running CentOS 5.0. The motherboard has two onboard SATA ports with two drives attached. I installed the system on a RAID1 setup. However, I'd like to add a hotspare disk to the array. Since there are no additional SATA ports, I've installed an additional controller. After partitioning, the additional drive was easily and successfully

Strange (?) device.map in CentOS 7 VM installations
Hello,
After repeated failing efforts to restore CentOS 7 backups (taken using
mondorescue software), I have found that all my CentOS 7 installations
(VMs under KVM) have the same /boot/grub2/device.map, which seemingly
refers to two HDs, although the VMs in fact include only one (virtual) HD.
For example: /boot/grub2/device.map
# this device map was generated by anaconda

to get info out of those, you need to install MegaCli64 from LSI Logic,
which has the ugliest command lines and output you've ever seen.
I use the python script below, which I put in

slightly off-topic, RAID program for on-board SAS 2308-4i ?

the 2308 isn't actually a megaraid, its a simple SAS HBA that has an
optional raid mode IF its flashed with IR firmware... this only supports
raid 0/1/10. I always(!) flash these with the IT firmware that
turns them back into a
