how to config printing on C7 installed from live image
Hi All!
I've just done a test installation (on an external USB HD) to see how
C7 works on my Acer Aspire netbook.
Apparently the live install (I used this one: CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-livecd.iso)
does not install CUPS. I've done "yum install cups" and got a ton of stuff
installed, but it won't let me set up a printer in the printing applet
in either Gnome or MATE (I prefer

7.3 and USB headphones
Hi all!
I wish to give huge thankyous to KB and all the others who worked
to get 7.3 out the door. Many thanks!
I have some good things and some bad. A good thing is that unlike
previous versions, when I plug in my USB headphones they are automatically
recognized and I get sound without having to change anything! (which is
a huge win from before when I had to mess with settings, sometimes for

audio recorder compatibility
I'm shopping for a small/tiny audio recorder, the kind for recording in
a class, interviews, etc... not really music, just voice. Per usual, a
lot of these write their audio files in some Windows format, e.g., WMA.
As a confirmed Linux guy, I'd want to offload the audio files in some
format that Linux can read/play natively. I've read a sketchy
suggestion that there's a Linux

Sound problem in Dell inspiron 1525
After installing CentOS 5.2 on my Dell inspiron 1525 laptop, the sound was
inactive, I then installed Alsa-Driver, Alsa-utils, Alsa-plugins and
Alsa-libs the ATrpms site. The speakers then work fine, but when I plug in
headphones, the sound begins to fade out and eventually becomes completely
quiet. I have checked the Volume Manager and nothing is muted including the
Headphones volume, when I

BlueTooth Headset
Hello Forum/List,
usually sound works quite well for me in WINE, but now trying to get my BlueTooth headphone to work (as opposed to the laptop's builtin speakers) I've run into a problem. My guess is it has to do with the delay occurs when a sound begins to play over these headphones, even though watching a movie in MPlayer at the same time to prevent that delay hasn't helped either.

SYSCALL problem in C7
Hi all!
I know this isn't a devel list, but thought someone here may have a clue
I could use...
I have a fairly big application that runs on Centos 7 (and 6 and 5).
Sometimes (not often, but too often) when running under the ddd debugger,
while sitting stopped at a breakpoint, it will suddenly spew an apparent
segfault in, as it says at the top of the source file, "Assembly code

Well, I don't think so...
there are only two choices there, Headphones and Line Out.

[PATCH 1/2] Update comparison.html
I cleaned up comparison.html, making the comparison more fair and
removing manufacturers that no longer have any new hardware
supporting a certain format. The table is more readable now too.

plug in phones, speaker does not mute.
Hi all!
Using C6 on an Asus M5A99X EVO R2.0 motherboard with AMD six core FX6300.
That board uses Realtek ALC892 audio chipset.
For the first time since I got that motherboard I tried plugging in
headphones to the front panel speaker output. I was somewhat displeased
to note that the speakers don't mute when that happens.
I recall seeing info on that in Fedora, but not Centos, and

USB audio on Centos-7
I'm using Centos-7 on my PC, with ASUS motherboard. internal audio
has always worked fine EXCEPT that I can never get audio input (for
recording) to work. I want to feed audio from a phono turntable and
from a cassette deck. I use a phono preamp for the turntable, or
directly connect the tape deck.
but either nothing, or low level with horrible distortion.
so, I gave up (after years of

FLAC: headphones
hi flac list!
I'm not sure if this question can be asked here, but here you go (it's a
question for audiophiles only):
I encode CDDA tracks to FLAC and play them on my Pocket PC (PDA). I'm
looking for a high quality headphone to connect to my Pocket PC, but it must
be an in-ear one but not like these:
