clamd@amavisd fails under systemd
Trying to set up a mail server under CentOS7 - having done this with CentOS5 and CentOS6 over the last decade with no issues and reliable service, it was time to upgrade (?) to CentOS7. Shouldn't be a problem, right? Getting to grips with systemd has been challenging - to say the least. So a brief overview of what I am trying to set up: postfix / amavisd-new / spamassassin / clamav so we

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
Ok, so just a follow-up to my last email; still following that guide, which is great…. Just stuck on getting the nut-server service starting automatically.  Got everything else working.  I’ve been able to get the nut-client starting up automatically at boot up (I had a missing “1” in upsmon.conf.  Oooops!)  However, I cannot get nut-server service to start-up automatically still. proton at

Synology NAS is shutting down Ubuntu servers after very brief power outage (fwd)
For directory permissions, the "x" priv determines if you can access the directory, so going from 555 (r-x,r-x,r-x) to 640 (rw-,r--,---) pretty much locks out access to the dir. Myself, I'd go back to 555. 640 essentially locks the group "nut" out . . . - Tim On August 11, 2020 11:11:22 PM CDT, Todd Benivegna <todd at benivegna.com> wrote: >Ok, so just a

disk label and geli encrypted slice
Hello, I'm using geli on laptop PC with only one HDD. Disk is divided into two slices, ad0s1 and ad0s2. Second slice (ad0s2) is encrypted with GEOM ELI using two-factor authentication - passphrase plus keyfile on USB drive. FreeBSD is installed on ad0s2.eli and first slice is not used by this system so let's say that I've got a full disk encryption. Now my question - is it safe

sum of digits or how to slice a number into its digits
Dear R colleagues, I face a seemingly simple problem I couldn't find a solution for myself so far: I have to sum the digits of numbers. Example: 1010 ->2 100100110 -> 4 Unfortunately there seems not to be a function for this task. So my idea was to use sum(x) for it. But I did not figure out how to slice a number to a vector of its digits. Example (continued from above): 1010 ->

[LLVMdev] How to slice the source code?
Hi, maybe you can have a look at the CReduce project: http://embed.cs.utah.edu/creduce/ This project implements many source-to-source transformations of C programs, e.g. removing functions, changing variable names, deleting branches in if-statements, etc. Some of these are purely based on the source code, other use the Clang frontend. Hope this helps, Jonas On Sun, Mar 17, 2013 at 7:25 PM,

systemd-sysctl not running on boot
You are correct, I'll refine my problem, By running "systemctl status systemd-sysctl" I also receive the same output, but a simple "cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness" returns the default value, and not the one set by my conf file. But, if I run "/usr/lib/systemd/systemd-sysctl" the "cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness" does return the correct value. Any idea ? Does

Compiling asterisk makes Systemd timeout when starting the service
I am banging my head. Stock asterisk on Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy) installs and works fine, but I want to update the source code. [LLVMdev] How to slice the source code?
Hi all, I'm doing the program slicing [1] in LLVM. Now I implemented the Weiser's algorithm [2] in a simple way by writing a plugin to analyze the IR. My final goal is to slice the source code, thus I recorded all the lines of source code to be sliced. The last step is to delete the lines which are not in the program slice. However, I met a problem when deleting the source code directly:

Changing IP Scope on a Samba DC
I FINALLY DID IT!!!!! After following Louis van Belle's walk-through to create a new DC, and having problems at the end, I realized there was nothing in the walk through about modifying /var/lib/samba/bind-dns/named.conf to let Samba know the Bind version so I did that and Voila! We have name resolution, can create kerberos tickets, just successfully connected a windows workstation to the

Dovecot (director, lmtp) IPv4/IPv6?
Hello, I'm build system with two director/proxy and dual stack network (or IPv6-only local services) http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Director say "This also means that a single director ring must use either IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, but not both at the same time." OK All servers have 2 interface (public and local network), and all dual stack IPv4/IPv6, imap/pop (mail) and lmtp (mx) proxy run

R-beta: slice.index in R
I am currently trying to port a couple of S or S-plus add ons (Multiple imputation) to R. Since I do not have S or S-Plus it is a bit of a trial and error process. Most things though, run smooth. I encountered however a function "slice.index" for which I cannot find any R counterpart. I have searched the different available documentations such as the S-FAQ and S-Plus-notes with no luck.
