A question about why the function "recv" return 0
I am a website developer. We deploy a Nginx server on centos to provide HTTP services. Recently, some customers of our website were complaining about that occasionally they could not open the webpage, the web browser show that the tcp connection was reset. I checked the Nginx logs and source code and found that the function "recv" return 0 when some customers made HTTP requests. Our

WPA question
HI I admit up front that I know just enough about wireless networking to know that I don't know much at all about it. That said, I'm hoping someone can help me learn a little bit... Specifically, could a laptop running Centos 5.1 be expected to (be able to) connect to a wireless access point using WPA2 security settings? I don't know if WPA depends on hardware support, or if

netbook screen suddenly goes black
Hi all! I'm running an up to date Centos-7 on my Acer Aspire One netbook. have been for, well, ever since C7 was released. Just had an event today that also happened 2 or 3 times with earlier systems installed, but I never pursued it. What happens is that suddenly while working away on the desktop the display suddenly goes black... not black as in turned off, I can see that the backlight is

What are the chances that a package such as vlc from http://videolan.org/vlc would become included in extras? so a yum install vlc would work. Thanks, Jerry

Virtualbox on CentOS 7
Hi there, because I just noticed that there is still no RPM package for RHEL 7/ CentOS 7 for Virtualbox .... what is the safest and cleanest way to install Virtualbox on CentOS 7? Has anyone already done and can make a recommendation? CentOS 7, firefox, and flash
I posted Friday about this oddity. Now I've got more data, and what's happening is this: if I tell noscript to enable youtube and googlevideo in one tab, not only does it affect *all* tabs, but also affects another browser window opened from the first browser window. Anyone have any clues for a workaround fix? mark

using autofs on C-7

RPM file download
I see a package "x246-0.120-5.20120303.el6 (i686)" available in my Add/Remove Software tool. I can't find said package in any of the repos I've searched through. Can anyone point me to a link where I can download that package to my local repo? -- _ ?v? /(_)\ ^ ^ Mark LaPierre Registerd Linux user No #267004 https://linuxcounter.net/ ****

how to determine what's installed from a repository?
Hello all-- I am trying to determine what I have isntalled from a given repository. I have seen several references to "yum repo-pkgs" which I think is what would work for me, but "repo-pkgs" does not seem to be a part of yum 3.2.29. Is this a yum add on that I could get somewhere? -- -------------------------------------------- MzK "Way down deep, we're all
