xhost + via Desktop centos 6.3 not working
Hello list,
In the past we have instructed users to perform 'xhost +' from their centos desktop, then set the DISPLAY variable on a remote computer to forward their display back to the desktop. This does not seem to work on centos 6 - but it did work in centos 5. It works from a vnc session on the desktop machine, but does not work from the local desktop.
We would typically use a display

As a first step I would confirm a few things.
1. Do you have any other systems using the NFS server successfully?
2. Does a manual mount work ?
3. If you increase the Logging level on your NFS server

F-test degree of freedoms in lme4 ?
I have a problem moving from multistratum aov analysis to lmer.
My dataset has observations of ampl at 4 levels of gapf and 2 levels of bl
on 6 subjects levels VP, with 2 replicates wg each, and is balanced.
Here is the summary of this set with aov:

using mapply to avoid loops
Hello, I would like to use mapply to avoid using a loop but for some reason, I can't seem to get it to work. I've included copies of my code below. The first set of code uses a loop (and it works fine), and the second set of code attempts to use mapply but I get a "subscript out of bounds" error. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Xj, Yj, and Wj are also lists, and s2,

NFS client firewall config?
Hi all,
Which ports do I need to have open on an NFS client's firewall to allow it
to connect to a remote NFS servers?
When I disable iptables (using ConfigServerFirewall), it connects fine, but
as soon as I enable it, NFS gives me this error:

Unable to mount Centos 5.6 Server via nfs4 - Operation Not Permitted - MADNESS!
After getting a reasonably configured NFS4 setup working on my Scientific Linux server, I spent a majority of my evening trying to do the same with my Centos 5 box, with fruitless results. Most attempts to mount that server returns the following message:
[root at sl01 log]# mount -t nfs4 192.168.15.200:/opt/company_data /mnt

Hi,
I am trying to mount the windows NT share to solaris 8.0 using Redhat 8.0 nfs.
Using smbmount I mounted windows share in Linux as /home/percipia/smb. I setup Linux as NFS Server and exported /home as nfs export.

dbApply and data.frame
Hallo again
I now succeeded in using dbApply on my data and I can convert it into a
data.frame. But as Peter Dalgaard pointed out I his answer to my earlier
question (Re: [R] list to data frame, 17.07.2003) I get one row and 10000
columns instead of what I want two columns and 10000 rows when I convert
the list that dbApply returns to a Data frame.
The list I want to convert looks like this

Tinn-R and R 2.15.0 integration
Hello,
This is WJ.
I downloaded R(2.15.0) and Tinn-R(2.3.7.1) from http://sourceforge.net/projects/tinn-r/ for my computer (window 7 OS).
I want to know how to integrate Tinn-R with R(2.15.0).
So far, I was able to find some web-site has step for integration, so I updated the following steps.
Open the file 'Rprofile.site' and add the following lines to the end of the file:

Current status on _outgoing_ Swedish/Dutch DTMF CLIP for TDM400 FXS interfaces?
Hi all,
I have been looking at the code for both the zaptel driver (wctdm.c/wcfxs.c)
and the asterisk channel driver (chan_zap.c) trying to figure out how much
of this that has been implemented. So far I can see that the current stable
1.0.9.1 zaptel driver don't have the SETPOLARITY ioctl that would be
required to properly signal the Swedish/Dutch CLIP, but the 1.2 beta1 has

NFS boot of Xen DomU - Goes to NFS version 2
Hi,
I''m facing a typical problem of booting Xen DomU
through NFS server. I have cleanly booted Xen guest
(Debian) through NFS Server. But the problem is that
the NFS version between my server and my debian system
is version 2. I want to play around with version 3.
My /etc/fstab of my debian system (DomU) which I am
accessing through NFS server looks like this.

ZyXEL Prestige 200w - should I return it ?
Hi all
I have just got a P2000w and experience several problems. Hopefully there is
someone out there that has got it working. I saw it on Cebit and the person
demonstrating it there told me that it was connected to an Asterisk server
on the stand -so it should work.
Problem 1: it does not register correctly
It get lots of messages like this:

PXELinux Kernel NFS Root Errors
Hi
This is a PXELinux problem that I'm facing. The problem, in brief, is that I
have a set of diskless nodes (AMD Athlon XP 1800+ with 256MB RAM) connected via
an internal 172.20.0.0/24 network to a dual AMD Opteron running SuSE Linux 8.3
for AMD64. I want the remote machines to diskless boot off the main server and
run independently. The diskless machines have a PXE-compliant BIOS for

vertical menus
Hello all,
Not a directly related question to scriptaculous or prototype, but I
am looking for a good, dynamic vertical javascript menu.
I''ve done some searching and there are a lot of menu implementations
out there. I''m looking for something more or less free, but will
pay/donate a small fee towards something worth while.
I figured I''d ask here to help filter down

ZyXEL Prestige 2000W SIP hangup fails
Does anybody have any experience with the ZyXEL Prestige 2000W? I am
having problems with the line tear down when I call another extension.
If nobody picks up at the other end when I hangup the 2000W, the other
extension continues to ring. Is there any way to hangup a SIP call if
there is no more traffic? Asterisk seems to think that there is still a
connection open. This is pretty annoying
