Shorewall and the latest kernel problem
I just installed the latest kernel 2.6.32-573.8.1.el6.x86_64 and when I
rebooted it shorewall (shorewall-4.5.4-1.el6.noarch) failed with the
following error
ERROR: a non-empty masq file requires NAT in your kernel and iptables
/etc/shorewall/masq (line 15)
Question is is this a problem in the kernel or is it a problem in
Shorewall?
Booting the previous kernel allowed shorewall to start

Kernel Panic post kernel-2.6.32-504.23.4.el6.x86_64
Greetings,
Today, I decided to reboot one of my CentOS machines after it had been
running for 219 days.
In this time, I had done yum updates several times. When I tried rebooting
the machine, none of the kernels would work except for the oldest one.
Here are the installed kernels:
kernel-2.6.32-504.23.4.el6.x86_64
kernel-2.6.32-573.3.1.el6.x86_64

Re: pulseaudio under ubuntu lucid
Update on this topic.
I have just bought a new computer (My previous one was 8 years old and showing its age) and I tried timidity instead of fluidsynth.
Midi playback works fine on both the midi player and notation processor in Wine with Pulse Audio enabled.

This means that functions that just compute or access a value (no
side-effects) should be named e.g. `getParent()`, rather than `parent()` as
they are in

Probably not. I know that Josh at some point added a second
residual coding method (rice2) to support 24-bit, but that only
broke backward

Define ?would not work?. Post a photo of the error message somewhere if you can?t describe it better than that. You might have to turn off rhgb mode to get a useful error message.

YA-2496
Hi. I've been browsing the archive on this topic and only found a few
notes, all dating from a year ago (almost too precisely :) ) -- hope I
haven't skipped the mails on that matter, sorry if I did.
<p>Basically, I will get in the next few months a MOTU 896, that have 8
i/os in 24/96. I do pro sound recording, so it's more or less my
business to have such a piece.

wine.conf newbie problem +user32.dll
I seem to have gotten past one hurdle and on to the next. It seems that the problem that
I was having relates to poorly documented changes in the config files in the HOWTO.
I now have /root/.wine/config which seems to solve the old drive problem. However, here
is my new error.
[root@pato .wine]# cp /etc/wine.conf ~/.winerc
cp: overwrite `/root/.winerc/wine.conf'? y

v3.0.0, AD, 2k3 mumbles
I'm running a Samba 3.0.0 server in production in security = ADS mode
against a W2k ADS server. Works just fine, thanks!
We're sort of under pressure to regrade to a 2003 AD server, which sent
me trying stuff out a bit. Meager results. The 3.0.0 I have (linked
with MIT krb5-1.2.8) refuses to verify incoming tickets:

Supporting 32 bit data
Hi all,
I just noticed this:
https://sourceforge.net/p/flac/feature-requests/91/
a request for support of 32 bit audio data. The request has been around
since 2008.
Had two inial impressions:
* Would adding this break brackwards compatibility too badly? Obviously
decoding of 32 bit encoded data would not work with older versions of
flac.
* This is nuts. 24 bits has a dynamic range of

Ogg portable player...
Does anyone know if someone is planning one of these? I've seen
comments about oggs on a pda, but I'm more interested in something like
an iPod. I wrote apple and haven't received a response for weeks. I'm
wondering if anyone else has had better results.

Production Server That Just Works?
Hi,
Love Rails...
I''m looking for a Production Quality Server that brings the same ease of
use as Rails does to web development.
I''ve tried TextDrive, and never got it to work. I''m sure there are good
reasons why it didn''t work but they are beyond me. I''ve contacted tech
support there several times, and it seems that there are so many setups

Using Runt with Rails Tutorial or Helpers?
I''m working on a project that has event scheduling and I need to get
date recurrence going on it. I found the Runt library which looks like
it has pretty much everything handled, but I was wondering if there are
any tutorials out there for using Runt with Rails, or better yet some
helpers or a plugin for it. I tried searching through the mailing list
archives, but searching is down

Differentiating between normal site content and accounts with subdomains
I''m using the subdomains as accounts method fine on a project, but
I''m wondering what is the best way to differentiate between account
subdomains to access the app using an account, and www.domain.com and
domain.com in order to show normal site content.
I''ve noticed that on Backpack, it seems that when you leave the
information pages and start using the app,
