I contend the appropriate approach to HA should be based on what services you need to keep available. an HA file server has quite different requirements and implementations than a HA relational database server or a

KVM HA
Hi, I have two KVM hosts (CentOS 7) and would like them to operate as High Availability servers, automatically migrating guests when one of the hosts goes down. My question is: Is this even possible? All the documentation for HA that I've found appears to not do this. Am I missing something? My configuration so fare includes: * SAN Storage Volumes for raw device mappings for guest vms

Corosync on a home network
I've been trying to build a model cluster using three virtual machines on my home server. Each VM boots off its own dedicated partition (CentOS 7.3). One partition is designated to be the common /home partition for the VMs, (on the real machine it will mount as /cluster). I'm intending to run GFS2 on the shared partition, so I need to configure DLM and corosync. That's where I'm

Clustering large data matrix
Hello, I have a large data matrix (68x13112), each row corresponding to one observation (patients) and each column corresponding to the variables (points within an NMR spectrum). I would like to carry out some kind of clustering on these data to see how many clusters are there. I have tried the function clara() from the package cluster. If I use the matrix as is, I can perform the clara

CTDB vs HA(clusterlabs)
hi everyone to experts, all experienced sambians - when one uses HA cluster one deems CTDB needless, redundant? Or you somehow team those two together? Or maybe ctdb is so superior that it is ruling this domain and if HA exists it leaves Samaba to ctdb? many thanks, L.

Apache + MYSQL HA Clustering
Has anyone worked with HA clustering for Apache and MySQL? I've looked at Linux-HA, but would like some trench workers views! What works and what doesn't? Thanks, Todd

Keeping data on 2 servers in sync !
I want to build 2 servers (both running samba) to provide file storage to 2 offices (approx 100 miles apart, linked via DSL) but all data writen to 1 server must also be saved to the other server. Both servers would also allow users to access the data via a VPN thus allowing 1 office with a failed server to access the other server via the vpn and still see the data from both offices. I currently

Patch to Pacemaker hooks in ocfs2_controld
Hi Guys, I overhauled and simplified the Pacemaker hooks recently. This patch: - Reuses more code from the Pacemaker libraries - Escalates fencing to the cluster manager instead of initiating it directly Attached patch is against master, or you can pull the original patch which is against an older version used by SUSE:

Test-suite bots red because of missing import
Hi, There was a new Python setuptools release (36.0.0) today, that caused this compatibility issue. The suggestion to stop breaking the builds is to add a static setuptools version on lnt's requirements.client.txt. The latest known compatible version is 35.0.2. I have tested it building a LNT sandbox and it seems to works. setuptools==35.0.2 I'll create a bug on LNT so we can

Accidentally mixed-up disks in RAIDZ
Hello to you all, Here''s the situation: While doing a case replacement in my home storage server I accidentally removed the post-it with the disk number from my three 1TB disks before connecting them back to the corresponding SATA connector. The issue now is that I don''t know in which order they should be connected. Do any of you know how can I _safely_ bring the zpool

Is Pacemaker integration ready to go?
I have seen many references online to being able to use OCFS2 with Pacemaker, but the documentation I have been able to find is very Sparse. I have kernel 2.6.29, and the latest DLM and Pacemaker (using openais) and OCFS2-Tools from GIT. (As of June 13). I was able to build ocfs2_controld.pcmk ... (With some minor changes to the makefile for my install) I noticed the OCF version of o2cb is not

Domain Controller as a file Server
Hello, In the documentation it's writen (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_AD_DC_HOWTO) We do not recommend using the Domain Controller as a file Server What are the best practice in a environement with only 10 pc If you have just one physical computer (vm,lxc,..)
