nmcli: unwanted secondary ip-address
Dear Simon,
every second IP-address is unwanted. We restarted? eno4:
nmcli con down eno4; nmcli con up eno4
and the second address vanishes. Then after a few ours, the second ip
address reappears.
This is the config-file of eno2:

RPC server not available when windows client attempts to join samba AD
I am installing a new Samba 4.2 Active Directory server on CentOS 7. I
followed the Wiki instructions on how to create the server. I am using
sernet-samba 4.2 binaries. Everything seems to be OK on the Linux side but
I cannot get any windows client to successfully join the domain. Each
attempt returns the following error message "RPC Server in not available".
Below are the config file

Fwd: WpaSupplicant how to
Hi,
I was recently going through the how to located here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/WpaSupplicant
This how-to shows the steps to follow to get a wifi interface working
without using NetworkManager and subsequently how to have wireless working
withouth having a user login.
Anyways, when going through this I was having issues because everything
seemed to work but I was never

Centos 7 - "Device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization".
Hi All :)
I have three servers, all with centos 7 installed 3 days ago. I need on
them "old" naming scheme (ethX) for network interfaces, because of that:
# grep GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX /etc/sysconfig/grub
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rd.lvm.lv=centos_node-XY/swap rd.lvm.lv=centos_node-XY/root
rhgb quiet ipv6.disable=1 net.ifnames=0"
net.ifnames=0 was added and afterwards I ran:

nmcli: unwanted secondary ip-address
Dear CentOS-Community,
we are facing the following issue:
A secondary ip address seems to be automatically added to a nic which
causes several issues in our setup.
This server is equipped with four nics which are currently in use:

kickstart: dracut-initqueue fails due to unresolvable hostname even though network config looks perfectly ok
Hi,
kickstarting fails due to problems with host resolution, even though the
network seems to be properly configured through DHCP. eno1 and eno2 are
both attached to the network, but only eno1 gets an IP via DHCP. Still
`curl` cannot resolve the mirror host and the kickstart host during

Dovecot 2.3.9 fails on FreeBSD
Hi
I've just tried to build the latest Dovecot 2.3.9 on FreeBSD 11.3.
Without success...It fails on the following commit which was introduced
in 2.3.9:
https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/c85f1bc3ce612c736c9d2c468cc08306db1b5851
Following output is the build log: https://pastebin.com/3nvSeDn8
So I guess it has to do with some changes FreeBSD made:

anaconda/kickstart: bonding device not created as expected
Hi,
I am currently struggling with the right way to configure a bonding
device via kickstart (via PXE).
I am installing servers which have "eno" network interfaces. Instead of
the expected bonding device with two active slaves (bonding mode is
balance-alb), I get a bonding device with only one active slave and an
independent, non-bonded network device. Also the bonding device

After upgrade to CentOS 8.1 default gateway missing
Hi,
Tonight I upgraded two CentOS 8 boxes to CentOS 8.1 (1911). Then after a
reboot of the first server the network was unavailable. In IPMI console
everything except the network was looking good. Network was unreachable.
No errors in NetworkManager. I also restarted NetworkManager, but it did
not help. Then I discovered that the default gateway suddenly was missing.
Then I rebooted the
